As for the statement it to hard on the cars is a myth n joke Most cars break by the 1/8 There be no money to win in the bonus class And the disadvantage for some pro cars will negate any wins Once again lets take away from what was the best class of racers there and put it to a few racers in a class that has the fewest cars to try n support a few

like I said before give me a stripe at the 1/8 and i'll be ok with racing 1/8 . As far as running two 1/4 classes I do believe it is harder on the motor , most guys I talk to say there only picking up 25 to 35 on the back half , so your in high gear all the way down the second half ringing the dog crap out of it and that has to be hard on it.

Why can the class between box and no box stay separate? But then again on other post sounds like boxes and photo eye are in pro already. I think they should have a racers meeting and vote on it then it's majority not a select bunch of squeaky wheels. Doesn't matter ill race just the same.

My car is 3 seconds between 1/8 and 1/4 sorry , what I ment was 25 to 35 mph on the back half , naturally the faster the car the more mph on the back half. What do you pick up mph wise on the back half ?

If this is indeed correct and not a typo or misprint and GMP is going 1/8 mile for Pro, it is a good thing. For all of those complaining about it not being 1/4 mile, for whatever personal reason, perhaps you would like to step up and chip in some extra $$$ to GMP to help them pay the higher insurance premium required due to the faster trap speed of the Pro and Super Pro cars in the 1/4 mile. Maybe then, they will go back to what you like. In the meantime, enjoy being able to race locally at a decent facility. Now, GMP can attract others already running 1/8 mile in the Bi-State area to race there. It may really be nothing more than plain economics and I don't blame them. insurance will not change , you will still have s/pro and pro cars running 1/4 in the box no box class so the speed will still be their , and worse yet you could have a 180 mph dragster up against a 85 mph sportsman car. I am not sure about that. Would think it could be negotiated with the insurance company. Truth is, only four time runs in Pro and S/P will be at the 1/4 mile distance. The majority of the passes in those two classes will be at the 1/8 mile distance. It is all about the maximum speeds (MPH) with the insurance company. Just sayin'. Could be wrong, but could be close to right. Makes no difference at this point. Glad they are doing it this way.

I agree a box should not be added in the final . But you could add a different switch .LOL You made it all the way without it in the no box . Race the race split the money however . Now somebody might get to race themselves in the final. Or 7 sec runs against 20 sec race I like that . I asked over on FB about the time runs ? The only way a S/Pro racer is going to ask you to split, is if he is BROKE. Ask me how I know !

In all reality I'm fine racing racing 1/8 mile , my favorite place to race is I-57 and it is all 1/8 mile , most of my bitching is just me trying to stir the pot out of boredum (told Deb I was going to haha ) the truth is my real problem is the bonus class , as far as I'm concerned it could be 1/8 mile too, I just hate the box no/box race I think a foot brake would be a lot better , you can race your 7 second car or your 20 second car it is all the same . Foot brake is the most pure class of bracket racing their is , it's as as a class can be for a wide range of et and yes the same guys are going to usually win but it will be a little larger group of the same guys. This is just my opinion some will agree some won't , a few months ago when people started talking about 1/8 mile pro and a bonus class Rob P. told me to quit trying to change things to suit what I want I don't think any of this other stuff is any different , people wanting things changed to suit the , I'll go ahead and get off my soap box before I fall threw it haha . Good night and good luck.

This is the truth that nobody wants to hear. The same mother Frs are going to continue to win races and championships no mater 1/8 -1,000'- 1/4 mile , sportsman , pro , superpro ! Long buttons no buttons , box or the foot! Suck it up and deal with it . It's is and always has been . Who wants it the worst ! Period! It IS the truth. I hear it & believe it. Back in '07 I "WAS" one of those mother Frs. Along with a few others. IT always will be. The players just change.

1/8 is the way to go for many reasons in my opinion. Glad they did it. Now we might just run points in all three classes.
