This is good. Glad to see they are doing the right thing this year and completely gearing Pro (no pun intended) all season for the ET Finals. Happy about the news. Wish the information had been released longer ago.

To make it fair in the final just turn off crosstalk for the runoff. The racer should have the option via the n option.

Well I would think some pro guys that win the pro side of the race may throw a delay box in for the run off! I think its a good idea if they want to keep a bonus race in play. Just a couple weeks away and it will be time to play, hopefully I am ready to go

At this stage it doesn't really matter I won't be running points at this track

Just a couple weeks away and it will be time to play, hopefully I am ready to go I think Dan Smith tried that in the past and was told he had to run the way the car was before the final ( old ownership ) and it wouldn't work if your car isn't set up for a box, (no trans break ) but what could make it a little more fair is to take the box out of the s/pro car , now i like that idea

I agree a box should not be added in the final . But you could add a different switch .LOL You made it all the way without it in the no box . Race the race split the money however . Now somebody might get to race themselves in the final. Or 7 sec runs against 20 sec race I like that .
I asked over on FB about the time runs ?

Why combine class at the final ? How many pro cars are not going to run because of this? Is this an attempt to fund a s/pro class with pro car count? IMO this will do more harm than good.

I learned to race on 1/8 mile and 1000 ft tracks Can i race then YES but the quarter mile is where drag racing history is and the art of racing is really at These younger generation of racers have decided that they rather go 1/8 some l believe would just stage and go 60' and shut it down throw out a shoot ! Some you cheering this 1/8 mile racing as a great thing Fine. But much is now lost and yes some will not race due to this decision The combining in the final is just a deal breaker even for me At a time when GMP need to lead and step up,, They decided to thrown in the towel and try to make a class bigger by destroying a great class

If this is indeed correct and not a typo or misprint and GMP is going 1/8 mile for Pro, it is a good thing.
For all of those complaining about it not being 1/4 mile, for whatever personal reason, perhaps you would like to step up and chip in some extra $$$ to GMP to help them pay the higher insurance premium required due to the faster trap speed of the Pro and Super Pro cars in the 1/4 mile. Maybe then, they will go back to what you like.
In the meantime, enjoy being able to race locally at a decent facility. Now, GMP can attract others already running 1/8 mile in the Bi-State area to race there.
It may really be nothing more than plain economics and I don't blame them.

I am not a bracket racer, guys, but had plans to run with you in Pro 1/4-mile this year. Wanted to just get the car out and have some fun with it this year. I figured I would give some of you an easy win with my stick entry, LOL. So help me out and explain in more layman's terms what is happening in PRO. Will 1/4-mile only be allowed at the end, or will there be separate 1/8 and 1/4 PRO runs throughout the day. I go to Gateway to run the 1/4-mile.

Can't say for sure. I suspect all time runs will be 1/4 mile (2 for each class) and if you choose to run 1/8 mile points, you'll have your numbers. If you want to run 1/4 mile, you'll have your numbers, too and can then enter the 1/4 mile bonus race(s).
