Maybe they can try and do what I57 does, put sprinklers on the track all day keep cold water running over the track when it is hot? seams to work there?? I would think the water would be slicker than a hot greasy track. And most of us don't have working wipers. ;D ;D ;D ;D

here is a thought what if the 100+ degree asphalt is sweating due to the fact the earth under it is colder/like a cold beer can in the heat?if this is the case there is nothing you can do but put some type of temp control under track. now on the track equipment to help prep tracks check out this link i found on the bullet.the scrubber link in there is what cid had at 1 time and worked great for clean ups,now the drag that they talk about would be awesome www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=285123waynesindustrial.com/trackscrubber.html

We had to let Waynes come and pick up the scrubber because Jacklyn owed over 45K for it. There's already a tractor drag at the track, We talked to Hoosier at the IMIS Show they said they would give tires. It takes road racing tires if you want to do it right, drag slicks will work but are the wrong compound and are too soft and won't last very long.
The track needs a brush for the front of the tractor more than anything , it will help in clean ups and broom the track to remove rocks and sand before spraying traction compound.

It's not what Bob said that's funny, it's the fact the Bob said it. Bob had several crashed cars within a few weeks. Bob wouldn't listen to his racers or other people. When someone would say something Bob would reply with, no one else is complaining. Then everyone told him he needed to hire Mitch or somebody to help prep the track which he never did. It's the hypocrisy of those statements coming from Bob that are funny. First off we had four crashes all year. All were not the fault of the track. Driver error and parts breakage also caused the crashes. The Pinto at the start of the year was somewhat the track, besides the track being green from the winter the driver got out of the grove and over corrected it, the car was a new car, he should of made a few short shots first rather than a full run with a turbo charged car John Burdess car broke a frontend part, Dave Shaffer told me the track wasnt at fault, he just stayed with it too long. The black Camaro that tagged the wall in the shut down was because of excessive braking. Brad When it comes to Mitch or your dad, I'm not saying they don't know what to do because they do know. I ask your dad for help, I told him I wanted him to be a part of the track... he even worked with us one weekend. so did your mom on another but Both Mitch and your dad was against me from the get go so why would I ask them further. As far as you, I didn't need your help. I suggested Greg calls on your dad or Mitch because they possibly could straighten the place out IF Greg would listen to them.

i was finally able to get my car to the track, and since it had some work done over the winter so it was for a test.
the tech inspection of my car was complete and done quickly. he checked for throttle return springs, coolant overflow catch can, wheel studs sticking throw lug nuts, battery hold down, fuel tank ground, seat and shoulder belts, driving jacket, helmet and looked under the car. the whole process took less than 5 min. the only thing that pi**ed me off was some racers thinking that they did not have to take their turn.
since my car has about 500 hp under the hood and 13.5 inch tires, traction from the starting line to the finish was not a problem, but the car got loose as s**t under braking at the other end. glad they have plenty of shut down area.
i did see two of the low 5 second cars spin on the starting line.
i heard them announce over the P.A. about the courtesy staging, but they allowed a car to quick stage me on the first time run. i believe if a car quick stages, they are supposed to be backed out by the starter, that did not happen. as i was there to get info on using a new piece in my car i got no useful info from that run.
the car and i will be back the 19th, it will not run only sit by the in bound road with a for sale sign inside. the drag strip is the best place to sell a drag car. since i retired we live on a fixed income and can not afford to have 2 race cars, so one has to leave.

If you get double bulbed take your time. You still have 10 seconds to stage after you prestage.

problem child i think that was me that double bulbed u off the get go, wasnt intentional as it was the first time i have had the car out for the year. being test and tune i didnt think it mattered that much or would have backed out. Sorry.

courtesy staging really dont matter in test or qualif passes it when 1st rd racing starts.let say the other guy double bulbed ya on a test pass and he ran buy himself/due to your car shutting down or couldnt get in gear, tree issue, etc. just relax and they will get restaged either by yourself or with next car in line.remember dont let the other racer get to ya buy double bulbing ya.race your race. now if you get double bulbed during a race round i believe they will get the red light when tree comes down.still race your race
