Let me start this by saying there was a great turnout today of some wonderful people . I have been and will try to always be a great supporter of the CID track and management. Today ,just in my opinion, was a cluster. Tech was a nitemare of time for many people that hadnt done eti, and it wasnt from effort of tech just too many cars for one man to do in a timely manner. Time runs at 10 ? not even close. Once runs started there was much down (dead ) time. Traction.....well not to bad for me personally but i heard many of the faster cars complaining of slip and slide action on the big end. Im not saying thats why Chad hit the wall but ..... The concession stands closed down before eliminations where even done. Then i find out and maybe im crazy but it has always been my experience that if a class is down to five cars the first one to lose leaves the final 4 cars as at least semi finalists and were paid as such, many times me being the loser that left 4 cars lol and no check for me. Policy now is rounds so if theres 5 cars in a round 3 are going to be in the money and now both other drivers are cut out. Maybe im just hot and cranky but i personally was very disappointed with todays program as were many others that voiced many of the same issues. I still consider Cid my home track and will continue to do so but i think a little tuning is in order.

well said bill, i def think traction was an issue with the quick cars. I hope they consider using vht for the nostalgia race. Another huge thing... why r kids running the burnout box? did u see how far cars had to pull up just to be out of the water? I think the tech guy is doing a good job but y isnt there somebody o help him when theres so many cars in line?

idk lon, i was also just a tad upset that with so much time wasted during the day that we had to hot lap to the finish, unless ive got the only car that falls way off going back to back to back to back. I think even jeremys prism fell off some =p

I know it was hot today but that's what we race in most of the summer. The traction today was horrible. My car was .06 off what I have been running at Gateway the last few weeks and my sixty's were all over the place. Chad's wreck was ugly as well, he did a great job of keeping it off his roof. The highlight today was watching Jeremy McKague going rounds in his Prism ( child seat, trailer hitch and all)

Ok people, Im going to throw this out there. How many more accidents is it going to take before someone gets seriously hurt. I called Chad and nothing "mechanical" caused his wreck. I warned Greg Break this was going to happen opening weekend and all I got back was "no one else is complaining about the track" Two races and Two wrecks, and by the way, the first car that rolled I hear he was in and out of the throttle and the problem was his car was all over the place so I dont buy that excuse that his throttle stuck for minute. If CID management is reading this. BUY VHT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.....Steve Maas

Chad Easley ? How fast was the car? And for me personally midstate has always been my slowest and most inconsistent track by far for the last ten years. I guess because it always seams like its 100 degrees there

I am assuming Chad is Ok since it wasn't mentioned. What happened? Man I hate to hear another car got damaged. Standing in line for tech does suck. I assume they have a 1 time FULL tech deal so you don't have to do it every week? Hopefully, L.A or Greg read this and make some adjustments so it runs smoother next weekend. The Nostalgia deal is such a huge part of the tracks yearly $$$...if that weekend doesn't run well, it will really hurt 2013's event.

I agree they dont need to have KIDS running the water box. There no one help to stage the driver in the box. The first car went the track, during the burnout dumped a bunch of rocks and all the kid worried about was sweeping the rubber in the box. It never chande all day long. That water box grew from 5 feet to ten. This the only track in the state that has kids working in this area. Shame on you.

As for tech, It is NHRA rules that the car be seen, The deal should always be safety first! I have never like the idea of someone bringing a tech card up , having it signed off, even tho the car was there last week, or at some race in Texas! As for traction, Havana or any track for that matter when it gets hot Traction is a premium, give what the track gives you, if you cannot set your car for a marginal tracks, then don't go! For some reason everyone blames track prep, when alot of racer believe that their car should hook every where at the same set-up ? We have cars with 4 bars, ladders , cal tracs, etc , we must be scared that if they move them they can never get back , Funny when the weather changes and the car changes with it, you don't blame the track for that too! As for 'kids' in and working the 'waterbox' and such, only if they are being trained by someone who's been doing that job, and proven they have the talent to do such job! let the bashing begin

I agree with everything you said.....except the tech. NHRA and most tracks have a program for full & in depth tech inspection where all devices expiration dates are noted. Once a car makes it through that, you get a decal. That's the only way to go.
People will argue about possible cheating devices but, I feel that A) no tech has the ability to catch teh advanced cheating today anyway and really don;t look for it as it is. B) Tear downs/ inspections can come at anytime if it deemed needed.

As far as the water box being 10 feet by the end of the night, the tires on my dragster are 9 feet around so if would work just fine. Besides most of the water was back behind the box and what was pulled forward were by racers that feel the need to pull out 4 feet.

Pulled Denny's bike 196 miles there on his 4X8 trailer, then got the win in Sportsman and Street (Denny also won pro on his bike) then pulled her 196 miles back home while getting about 25 miles per gallon. The trailer hitch, car seats, etc are to keep the super speed secrets incognito.
