Let me clarify one thing, im not bashing the track for a second , ill be there running my two classes every week i can do it, But as a steady competitor there i think that gives me the right to point out some things that could work a tad bit better .

Bill i think you covered most of the cluster, I believe the biggest problem is the time that the track isn't ready when promised. We all know that Paul is no longer with CID they should have been pre paired for this maybe they should go down the night before and set things up knowing the weather is going to be fabulous the next day or maybe start really really early.

If you live far away from the track leave earlier, I noticed car were still rolling in at 11:00 and later how could you make a 10:00 time run if they were held at 10:00 If the track starts clicking your going miss.
Just a hint CID

As for tech, It is NHRA rules that the car be seen, The deal should always be safety first! I have never like the idea of someone bringing a tech card up , having it signed off, even tho the car was there last week, or at some race in Texas! As for traction, Havana or any track for that matter when it gets hot Traction is a premium, give what the track gives you, if you cannot set your car for a marginal tracks, then don't go! For some reason everyone blames track prep, when alot of racer believe that their car should hook every where at the same set-up ? We have cars with 4 bars, ladders , cal tracs, etc , we must be scared that if they move them they can never get back , Funny when the weather changes and the car changes with it, you don't blame the track for that too! As for 'kids' in and working the 'waterbox' and such, only if they are being trained by someone who's been doing that job, and proven they have the talent to do such job! let the bashing begin There was a Q16 there. Track should not have been "marginal", and I did not go and I have never missed one. I ran at Byron and that track is hard hookin and they really work it. Yes, work it.

Dennis, I ve watched you post on here all year about making our cars work with what they give us. I ll be interested to see if you get your car to the track, if your going to want to change your chassis setup to go racing at a track that is marginal? Most people that bracket race find something that works 90% of the time and they leave it alone. We are not Pro Stockers that do this for a living, we do this for enjoyment. I 'm not saying anything about the track yesterday because I ve got issues that I m fighting and I ve not got a feel for the track yet, and Jarrod went the finals running within a couple hundred all day. Obviously his car was fine. What I am saying is most people are not going to tune there chassis to the track. They will do as Steve Mass did and go somewhere else if there setup works there. Again, my comment here is not whether or not the track was good. It is that most racers are not going to change their setup to go to 1 track (any track) when what they have works somewhere else.

100000% agree Brandon. While most normally make shock adjustments or tire pressure changes.....I won't touch the bars. I shouldn't have too. Can anyone provide an update on Chad? ? How bad was the car?

Chad got completely sideways about 3 differnt times( in the same run). Ended up scraping te back of the car against the wall. Very minor compared to what could have happened. The wheelie bars are junk. But if you had watched that run you would know exactly what a great job he did not to hit both walls and roll it about 15 times.

Very nice. Without bashing anyone or anything it kinda seems that over tired is where we all need to be. I ve still got 33-14.5-15 on my dragster and had a few tell me I ll never make it work CONSISTANTLY. How big is that motor and what heads?

First off I'm not being negative or slamming the track or anyone, but until CID stops using VP and goes back to VHT the traction won't ge mucht better... two crashed cars within a few weeks on a newer track surface that had cars going 4.0's and 4 teens last season is unacceptable. Greg you need to start listening to your racers and other people Telling someone that "No one else is complaining" is BS. You need to hire Mitch or Rich Gebhardt or someone that knows how to prep the track. I know your working hard to make the track a go... and it's a lot of hard work every week but there is a lot more to do at a drag strip than cutting grass and cleaning up the grounds.
Also I know you may be short handed but allowing kids to run the burnout box is a real bad decision, parents will sue when thier kids get hurt, flying rocks or debris off of tires can hurt one of these kids real bad. The track insurance and NHRA doesn't allow it, Kids shouldn't even be allowed in restricted areas when Jr Dragsters are not racing.

Areed Chad did an awesome job saving that car and himself from some serious damage. Traction isnt a big issue for me i have a bolt on Mustang gt that only has run 8.66 at best in yesterdays weather i as high 8 low 9. my thing is the organization factor and getting it done timely manner. FOR THE THE RECORD I AM A TRACK SUPPORTER .

Brandon,
It's the 500" out of the roadrunner. Vashawn, traded some parts for these Indy 440-1 345's. I am going to the 16 X 33.5 goodyears in the D2-a compound. I wanted use a 16 X 32 in a D6 for the shorter role out but the bigger tires should make it launch in mud. Not knowing a Mopar at all....I may change the gear after I make a run or two. Really wanted to run Monster Mopar at Gateway but, it's not looking good.
Chad has made soooo many runs in that car and on that track so he knows what he's doing. Glad he is OK and damage is minimal.
