Is CID using VP or VHT for compound this season? Sure didn't like VP they were using before. Our car always worked good with VHT even if it was used sparingly. Might be ready by the first of the month.

why would you go back to using a traction compound that does not work?

why would you go back to using a traction compound that does not work? It is my understanding that Cordova uses the same compound and that some of the Cordova staff came to CID to help with the mixture.I thought the track was good last weekend.I saw Dylan Gales camaro make at least three trips down the track with three passes at 5.34 elapsed time.If that door car is repeating like that my opinion is that the compound issue has been resolved. vp sucks probally is good for a car with no power I guess you missed the post where I mentioned a 5.34 door car didnt have any trouble....you must have a bad asz door car if you consider a 5.34 door car to have no power. Jimmie Barrett

The guys from Cordova might came down and showed them how to perp the track. But they didnt stay around to help maintain it all day long. I see them prep once in the morning and once at the shootout and that's it. Up at Cordova they are always working that track all day long. Hand spraying the sixty foot area and using the rosin on the bare spots. I know its early in the season still. Maybe things will change. I noticed Jerry's Duster went back to back 6.43's then went 6.50. They sprayed and back to a 6.429. The thing I notice the most is how rough the right lane is getting, it moved Steve's car around everytime he hit the 330 mark.

You don't mix VP, it's ready to spray right out of the drum. I can't imagine why they want to go back to using a compound that isn't near as good as VHT. VP costs about $600.00 a barrel ready to spray VHT is about $1000.00 a barrel unmixed. Cut it with alcohol at 50% and your still about the same money but it works a lot better. The VHT will build up on the track surface from week to week and will make it so after a period of time it don't take as much to prep the track. The VP compound don't seem to want to build up. Everyone was ready for a lynching and was dead set against VP when we used it last year but we didn't have any choice because we couldn't get VHT at the time.
The'll find that they will have to spray 3 times as much VP to get the same results as one good pass of VHT. 5.34 is a fast door car but Wilmer's Camaro should of ran in the high 4's. My opinion is the track is still green from the winter and maybe VP will work on the new surface but I doubt it.

sounds to me like we are gonna have another smash the track thread , i cant imagine greg not doing whats needed to makew the track safe . I know steve had a concern about not hooking his 4 second firebird but no reservations driving his camaro there. Problemchild dylan is running a door car not his dragster fyi. There has been one day of racing maybe people should have a small bit of patience instead of expecting someone to jump right now.
