I could be wrong, but I really don't think too many guys in the pro class would complain on the $10 increase in entry for the much better payout system, especially if there is no bonus class. Wishful thinking. You would be surprised how many pro guys would throw a hissy fit about the extra $10 just like they did about the possibility of going 1/8 mile !And imagine if superpro went back to the $80 entry fee like it did 12 years ago for 1/8 mile . And pro had to pay $80 to enter to make things equal ? Holy cow they would burn down the tower. Lol So if I understand you correctly. Anybody who does not agree with your opinion about racing 1/8 mile. Is having a "hissy fit" LOL You would not happen to know who is sending me the wonderful hate email over this subject would you? The only ones I have spoken to at Gateway this off season. Were the people taking reservations for the banquet.

All I know is for as long as I can remember of the three car classes PRO is the ones complaining about everything. No slow cars, no fast cars, no dragsters, no motorcycles, this guy is cheating, this guy has a laptop, that guy has a box, I want 1/4 mile so Jimmie Barret can't run points in his camero. I have ran all three classes and by far pro is most "hissy" throwing of all.

By looking at his results this year he needs something LOL. I learned about the whole crybaby thing a couple years ago at Benton. That is why I mostly stay to myself at the track now.

The problem is Sportsman rules are pretty clear. No electronics. S/P is almost anything goes. Pro is a grey area. Some things are allowed while others aren't. Sportsman is intended for more of a streetable car. S/P is all our race cars and Pro is in that grey area again it has both. The cars that are closer to being a street car don't want to race a purpose built racecar. The fast racecars don't want to wait for the slower street cars.
This is just in general it doesn't apply to every racer.

Who is 'Captain Crybaby'? Im not going to make it easy and just tell you outright who it is. So next time you are at Gateway ride around the pits and check for license plates on the back of every car running PRO. My bet is you will figure it out real quick when you see the right one. LOL.

This is just in general it doesn't apply to every racer. WARNING WARNING WARNING EXTREME AMOUNTS OF SARCASM ABOUT TO FOLLOW IF YOU CANT HANDLE THAT TURN AWAY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree somewhat. But the real problem is alot (notice I said alot not EVERYBODY so dont flame me LOL) of people have their own agenda. And they want what suits them, their driving abilities and thier car the best. And if you dont agree with them you are a "________Insert description here________" I have a idea that is a win for everybody. LOL NOTICE the LOL. Print the tech cards twice as big and leave lines on the back to describe the class you want to run in. IE. I would put that I want to run in a class that requires everybody in the class to run a Black 1995 Pontiac Firebird with a VFN Hood, 30X10.5 Hoosier Drag radials and AFR LT4 Heads with 235cc intake runners. If there happens to be two cars like that (which I doubt there will be because I own the only set of AFR LT4 235cc heads in the world LOL) we will just keep adding requirements until everybody has their own class that they like to run and have the best shot at winning. Everybody gets 2 time shots. Everybody pays 100 to race. Gateway keeps 40 dollars. If you happen to go red or cross the center line first round. You can buy back for another 40 take the green and coast down the track to win. Everybody wins every body gets 60 dollars for winning their class. AS you come down the return road you stop in front of the big winners circle sign and get your picture taken. The race will be over early every night. Gateway does not have to turn the lights on. Gateway makes money. The guys selling photos will sell a bunch of winners circle photos so he will be happy. Everybody will win a championship. Everybody can brag during the off season about how many races and the championship they won. Nobody has to try real hard. If you miss all but one race you will still win the championship. Nobody will be accused of cheating. Nobody has to speed their car up or slow their car down to fit in a class. Nobody has to buy any parts to be able to run any class they choose. IF you want to run multiple classes its OK. It will be just like kids sports are today. Everybody gets a trophy and nobody's feelings get hurt. The only problem is who gets to goto indy. And we can draw straws for that. OH hell there went my whole plan. Cause you know somebody will not be happy with how the straws were cut. LOL Just print the damn rules up and everybody can decide for themselves what they want to do. And weather they want to race at Gateway or not. But for Gods sake print up some rules and leave them alone. And quit trying to change stuff all the time. All it does is make 1/2 the people happy and piss the other half off.

I forgot to mention with my plan above and everybody winning a championship. I would expect car counts to go through the roof. LOL OMG I need to get back to work. See you all tonite good Lord willing and the crick dont rise. Oh hell now I pissed someone off because I mentioned God. Please accept my apologizes.

Your plan won't work. Too many people would be mad Gateway would be taking $40. They think they should pay $100 to enter and win $200. GMP should just take a loss of $100 per car. Here's an idea we make the employees pay to work there instead of being paid. That money could be added to the purse.

I have 2 footbreak cars 12.0 and 10.30. Both have ZERO electronics. Sandbagging is also legal in any class.

That's why it's the only class that is allowed to use shoe polish numbers at Indy.
