If they would do any kind of racer "free entry" into the king of the track race, it would take longer to do, but have have the race winners from the points races this season run off to a class winner to then the 4 classes winners race

I think its bull to have a champion of a class race from 2013 now getting to race the winner of the king of track race .Unless he races himself .LOL I'm not taking away from any Champions but you've earned it and got free entry and other perks for 2014 . I just don't understand the GET FREE PASS to race the guys who wins that race .You have 2 shots at it as a walk in and or win the race that nite to able to compete in the final 4 shootout . I honestly think it is a cool format and I am not saying it because I am a champion. Now Don I don't recall you throwing a fit about this when they announced last fall that the champions would be in the king of the track runoff. Bottom line is we all say there is not enough perks for running points and winning the championship, so when they add something else to it we start to cry on that? Come on now! Look at it this way Don, whoever wins pro this weekend gets a 1st round bye in the runoff, because I will not be there, so go win. My question is, should they have this a bye run or should the 2013 runner up get to take my spot in the runoff?

Don I wore out my best pair of knee pads to make this happen ? but in all seriousness this format was told to me last year following the 2013 KOT Chris said all of this year champions will face off against next years winners to add a unique gateway only format. I think it was done for two reasons . One to reward the guy who is there all year at every points race and two is to make it harder for a once a year guy trying to come in and take the precious FAKE Wally . I really don't know why NHRA even has this race. The little Wally's are a dime a dozen . You don't really do anything different to make you a KING than just win a normal Saturday bracket race.

This race to me is the only wally that is given out on a regular race that is worth more than any other race. The national dragster challenge everyone who wins a class gets one. This race you must beat the other winners. I like that the champs get to run as it will add more excitement and IMO make it a much more fun race.

In best interest not to go real overboard or send 203 pages(hear me Don,ha ha).Nothing may ever become of this but, you never know until you try it. As an example, some of the things that I think they did well was having checks ready when round was over so there were not 50 people in tower trying to get checks all at one time. Another thing was stepping up and paying some full purses when car count was close and paying more when count was way over. Some things that I think need studied are starting times, when ladder starts, down times (cars should be going down track at all times unless a safety issue occurs) or unless you are going to give supper break between end of time runs and start of eliminations. This would give employees time to eat and rest as we would also have some extra time. There are a lot more things that we could come up with(please Don only five not five hundred, ha ha , love him like a brother but no wonder I can' get along with my family.)This is only my thoughts on an off season to do list. I will be sending mine ,what about you? They have this posted on their website for a couple of weeks RBKT65 . 2014 PLANNING UNDERWAY FOR GATEWAY MOTORSPORTS PARK BRACKET, HIGH SCHOOL AND JR. PROGRAMS As of August 3, 2013:ATTENTION RACERS- We are currently making our plans for 2014, developing schedule options and talking to our advisory panel regarding the 2014 season. Our goal is to have the majority of our program confirmed by early October so we can get started earlier on the registration process. We want you to know exactly how your program will be run for 2014 by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. This also provides us with adequate time to work on our sponsorship programs at the year-end trade shows such as SEMA and PRI/IMIS. Here’s what we can tell you so far… -The 2014 season will consist of approximately 10 point races with 2 throw-out events. -The King of the Track will take on a new look and feel… the 2014 run-off will have the 2013 track champions in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Pro/Street Bike facing off against the winners of a mid-season “wild card” race to determine the title of “King of the Track”. -The point season will conclude with the National Dragster Challenge as part of the final point race. -We are currently attempting to secure a contingency program for each class as well as individual class sponsorships and an overall series sponsor. -We will be distributing a survey form that will ask for information regarding other potential programs, race enhancements, programs, etc. The reason we are telling you this now is because we want to review the information while it is still underway and analyze each and every event. We appreciate everyone who has supported us this year as we’ve had to make multiple changes to the program in order to make things work effectively. Our goal for 2014 is to provide you with a solid schedule and consistency across the board. It’s a work in progress but we want you to know that we are making that a top priority for Gateway Motorsports Park Read more: crossbonesracing.proboards.com/thread/4031/season-over#ixzz3GnUrhFov

There was no mid season winner. They are talking about the winner of this race this weekend. I assume this was was going to be in the middle of the year at some point.

Yes thinking the street car race bumped this to the end of the year And that is why it is 2013 champions not 14 as they wouldn't have been declared by original date
