first congrats to all winners. On to winter business. I would like to thank GMP for having fortitude to change things for better this year after confusion reigned and won last year .There are still some things that can be made better for them and us. What I would like to propose is that you sit down and list the 5 most important things that you think need changed or were satisfied with. Send to Chris, along with small synopsis of how you would change it or leave it or tweak it. In best interest not to go real overboard or send 203 pages(hear me Don,ha ha).Nothing may ever become of this but, you never know until you try it. As an example, some of the things that I think they did well was having checks ready when round was over so there were not 50 people in tower trying to get checks all at one time. Another thing was stepping up and paying some full purses when car count was close and paying more when count was way over. Some things that I think need studied are starting times, when ladder starts, down times (cars should be going down track at all times unless a safety issue occurs) or unless you are going to give supper break between end of time runs and start of eliminations. This would give employees time to eat and rest as we would also have some extra time. There are a lot more things that we could come up with(please Don only five not five hundred, ha ha , love him like a brother but no wonder I can' get along with my family.)This is only my thoughts on an off season to do list. I will be sending mine ,what about you?

1. Traction must be improved and be there every night. 2. Bye run should be light only and never close to dial. 3. Pay 1/8th mile class on same scale as quarter. 4. Ladder all classes at the round of 16 every race. 5. Stop the duck hunting in the staging lanes. Police the lane jumping or put classes in 4 lanes and then random draw lanes 1 and 3 left lane. 2 and 4 right lane. Then random pick which lanes run each other.
Other than last week when the track was terrible and the fact it picks up a ton the other weeks when the sun goes down ( yes I know all tracks pick up but this has been extreme) I feel that gateway has did a good job this year and has been enjoyable to race at. I feel that by having more races this year it helps to keep people in the mood to go racing. Hopefully the improve again next year and get back to becoming one of the elite tracks for weekend racers.

1 - Get rid of the entry trailers, Put the booths back, 2 - Open gates at 1 pm 3 - When paying 32 drop the winnngs down so the lower guys get a little better than $15 . 4 - Have a 1 a month 2 day bracket race for large payouts, 5 - keep spectators/pit pass same money 10 bucks ! Really tough to say anything bad, I think they did a very good job all year! To address any traction issues , the fact that you racing at the most hottest part of the day, makes even the very best drag strip manager pull his hair out! They did find out at the last races that they had more than 2 lanes in staging! ha lol I did see a few issues of staging lane ?? but this will happen from time to time, As for waiting for 'duck' in S-Pro ,I didn't think anyone there was ever a duck, anyone there can beat anyone at anytime.

I don't know how many other racers would like to see a class with no box or delay buttons.

I think they shouldn't pay that far back. I think they should take that money and add it on to places 5-8 so those guys get decent money. Yes the traction is hindered due to the heat but that is not the cause of the problems. The major problem is the lack of rubber. I know on fb gateway kept bragging ow quick the pro stockers were running with high track temps. I give them credit as when concers were brought up the have fixed most of them so I expect them to get these problems sorted out also.

I assume the duck hunting in question is in the pro classes. Traction is the huge issue for me it has been the most dangerous track I have ever raced on . I almost crashed 4 times this year from the first points race . To the last. Weather was not the issue. Last year my car ran from 4.79 to 4.85 the entire year. This year it went from 4.82 to 4.92 in one race! It's from the lack of scraping between midnight madness and no time for between round Maintenance due to being in a big hurry. But other than I like most everything .

'DITTO' IS NOT A RESPONCE!!! lol Surely you have 5 things you like or dis like or like to see changed,? You're correct Dennis, DITTO is not a response. But I have had pretty much an issue all season with traction like most people have. Like Jason I have looked at the gaurd wall more than I care to this year. The last points race we had I made more aborted passes than I did clean ones. My car doesn't make that much power to rattle the tires when it leaves and to go into either tire spin or rattle the tires down track. Strange thing is it happened almost exactly at the same spot on the track all year long (900' down track)left lane. And this crap of not pairing us at the head of staging sucks, thankfully I had help most of the time the season that would tell who I had and what they dialed. Other than the inconsistent starting times I still agree with Jeremy, we need to know who we are paired with and have someone at the head of staging that can take and remain in control. This staging control by committee isn't working, 5 to 6 people running around you're not sure who is in charge and who to follow. When Lynda or Jess were there you knew who you were paired with and it didn't get screwed up as we moved forward as it did this year.

I also see a problem of pulling all the way up to the crosswalk when your class is called. Because the first few pair need to be strapped in suit on HANS device ready , ect. This is not speeding things up. It's risking safety because your opponent that mite not need as much safety gear as you is already at the stop sign waiting on you and you mite skip the arm restraints so you don't get timed out . And the other problem is you can't call the next class until the previous class is under the tower. Not one of gateways better ideas.

I will be sending mine ,what about you? They have this posted on their website for a couple of weeks RBKT65 . 2014 PLANNING UNDERWAY FOR GATEWAY MOTORSPORTS PARK BRACKET, HIGH SCHOOL AND JR. PROGRAMS As of August 3, 2013:ATTENTION RACERS- We are currently making our plans for 2014, developing schedule options and talking to our advisory panel regarding the 2014 season. Our goal is to have the majority of our program confirmed by early October so we can get started earlier on the registration process. We want you to know exactly how your program will be run for 2014 by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. This also provides us with adequate time to work on our sponsorship programs at the year-end trade shows such as SEMA and PRI/IMIS. Here’s what we can tell you so far… -The 2014 season will consist of approximately 10 point races with 2 throw-out events. -The King of the Track will take on a new look and feel… the 2014 run-off will have the 2013 track champions in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Pro/Street Bike facing off against the winners of a mid-season “wild card” race to determine the title of “King of the Track”. -The point season will conclude with the National Dragster Challenge as part of the final point race. -We are currently attempting to secure a contingency program for each class as well as individual class sponsorships and an overall series sponsor. -We will be distributing a survey form that will ask for information regarding other potential programs, race enhancements, programs, etc. The reason we are telling you this now is because we want to review the information while it is still underway and analyze each and every event. We appreciate everyone who has supported us this year as we’ve had to make multiple changes to the program in order to make things work effectively. Our goal for 2014 is to provide you with a solid schedule and consistency across the board. It’s a work in progress but we want you to know that we are making that a top priority for Gateway Motorsports Park

(1)No make up points races could be a non points race if wanted . (2)Like the throw away of a certain number gives others the time for family ,racing ,etc. (3)Like knowing the payouts as of 1st round . (4)Dislike closest to dial in on ladder Tree is 1st thing we all hit . (5)Dislike the new comment you oil track 1st time warned and kicked out. (6)Dislike pulling all the way to catwalk and pairing . (7)Liked racing their this year raced one other track Indy so far.Felt better than last year. (8)Dislike that their might be a committee and racers don't know who they are to talk to. (9)Dislike that not all track officials are on same page with NHRA and GMP rules. (10)LIKE RBKT65 calling me out .

To # 5 a lot of tracks are now going to this, if you oil 1 x time warning ,,oil again your done for the day!! Good call!! The Catwalk deal will go away!! I understand they are bringing in someone to do nothing but strip traction, ? My personal thought on ladder is ,, wasted time! , Way to much juggling of cars, grab a lane go racin! As for ' duck' hunting, sure it goes on ,never stop, I do not see it in Pro, I see issues where more than 1 guy is pulled out for bye, but that tends to be in staging ,so doesn't matter when having large car counts use the enough lanes so that all cars can be in a lane! maybe have a guy at the end making sure cars go to lanes
