asked greg sunday and the insurance is different this year with nhra, 2 different co's and 1 will cover only events and 1 covers all the time.thus more money spent on insurance.last year only 1 insurance co.again this was a disscusion only and nothing set in stone.will not happen this year, if at all.if you got a nhra lisc you can race any track in the country nhra, ihra, outlaw, etc.i used to race ihra and nhra and paid for both for years till i figured out that all i needed was a nhra lisc to race both.ihra will honor a nhra lisc but nhra won't honor ihra as ihra lisc are easier to get.i would say 99% of you racers have nhra lisc,so why change now.still will need for many tracks anyhow.

IHRA has honored the NHRA for years, but that is about to change, Ihra has stated at vairuos times that racer will need to apply and get an IHRA license as the intend to not honor that arrangement sometime soon. NHRA has made several statements to the same effect. What I and several others have question of , why change? What has NHRA done to make you leave it, for something other? Please don't say it because they stick it to the racers, or belts, blah blah We want to hear ,, does it benefit the racers more, and the track! or just someone who doesn't like NHRA ! In reality, all this time spent looking at ways to change the track to this or that could be used to make the track better, repairing friendships with racers, building better relationships with exsisting sponsors and collecting more sponsors!! just a thought!! I thought this was the whole point of this forum. To ask questions and get people thoughts about things going on at particular tracks. There have been a lot of good opinions & ideas coming out of this thread. It hasn't been a bash fest by no means, just racers giving their opinions about what they think...

have not been to the track since the nostalgia race because of the way they changed the rules at the drivers meeting, plus the fact i have not had the extra money. there should have been a show of hands to see how many wanted a pro tree verses a full tree. he also needed to raise his voice so everyone could hear him.
don't care if the track goes nhra, ihra or non sanctioned, since my car will not be fast enough to need a chassis cert or comp license. but I WILL NOT RUN AT A TRACK THAT DOES NOT HAVE INSURANCE!!!!!!! it's not my car i worry about, just the one in the other lane.
I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE TRACK CLOSE, but can not bring myself to support a track that gives into the wishes of a few, and tells the rest of us DEAL WITH IT.

This has been a pretty good thread that's had some good opinions, but honestly I think some guys are over reacting. If the track stays NHRA fine... if it goes non sanctioned that's fine too. I'm sure you can count on the track being insured either way. Someone in good financial condition like Frank isn't going to own a Drag Strip and overlook insurance just to save a few dollars.
It does surprise me that someone from the track hasn't came on here and addressed the issues... if for no other reason but to put doubt to rest. Rumors travel like wild fire and there are a lot of racers that hear about things like this subject second hand that don't go on message boards.
