Heard he is now looking for investors to fund the project like buying stocks in the place. Not sure about you but with the history of what has happened thus far I'm not real sure I'm ready to invest in a dream.

Just a thought here I can't see this area supporting another facility With all the tracks now the limited amount racers If it was further out I can say yes with the demise of KCIR and Topeka looking hopeless ( haven't heard what going on there ) A track further that direction could be a boon adventure I just don't see this adventure as it stands bearing any fruit

Dennis you are correct with bone terre , Harrisburg and the new motorplex at Benton they would be stupid to try and compete in this area right now.

I mean it was simple stuff like driveshaft loops for cars with slicks and battery hold downs and throttle return springs. Believe it or not there are still several old cars laying in barns through out Mid MO that are waiting for the boys at MAR to start back up so they can drag their junk out to play again. Keep in mind I'm not talking about cars in S/P or Pro but they trophy classes and street tire classes seem to bring a lot of these guys out. I'm sure there are plenty of these in MID MO that will attend the place. As far as Topeka goes it was announced Friday that Core Bank took ownership of the place and have potential buyers already in the facility getting ready for this weekends Div 5 races. And from what I have been told they are taking ownership to continue on.

Bill Moran and some other guy would fail my dragster for a hole in the firewall or if I brought a streetcar they hated when I entered two classes they would call up to the tower and complain to anyone who would listen. I tried to explain to the hillbillies that drove the car here I don't need fuel or cool down. They hated my guts there just because I was a gateway regular. So mike you must have teched there before 1996!

I agree with some of what your saying With Bonne Terre I57 and Accelaquarter both new and with GMP. Racers have their pick Havana should be a big player but since their change to IHRA AND WEATHER not been a player I just don't see MAR being a big player with dwindling racers
Can midnight madness events only make a race track ?? Every Friday or sat ??

So mike you must have teched there before 1996! Jason, it was 1991 after I sold my old Vega to Pete Jones and was in the process of building my Beretta. Like I said if you were driving anything fast there they could get kind of strange to say the least. I worked there for about half of the season, got there at 6:30 am and would work the whole day for 30 bucks. I guess I was too tough on the street beaters that would come there because they made me the starter. We set up one day and before first round we got rained out, I walked up to get paid the following week and I was told matter of fact fully that THEY didn't pay anyone if it got rained out. I asked if I did everything that I normally did as far as set up and tear down and was told yes, I then asked if they worked their regular jobs for free and they laughed and said no. I proceeded to go look for Tex who was the manager and when I found him I handed him my radio and said I don't work for free and I would see him when I got my car done got in my car and drove home. Great people but they had some peculiar ways.
