i myself prefer being done early. Coming home after midnight on over a 2 hr drive sucks. I'll sacrifice 4 more hours in the heat for it. Reason I hardly go to sikeston or Benton is not just that they are farther but the race goes too late. I agree. I see James point also but in my latest stage of my racing career .I prefer to be done by 9 or 10 pm. And like Jeremy the out of town tracks finish to late then the old long drive home. In my younger days I had no problem getting to Benton at 5 pm make two time runs in the stang finish at 130am drive home with a cooler of road sodas and meet people at pops at 3:30 am . Not now . Heck I won’t even go to Bonne Terre because of the feet dragging. Looking back now this latest stage is a lot more fun and smarter The stock car tracks all start after 5pm and race at night like we use to (under the lights) We race in the blistering sun just to make certain no spectators will ever show up.

I miss the old days racing at night, I didn't care what time I raced too, after all i worked all week for my night out sure didn't want it to end too early! It was a party after the races were decided spent many nights at the track until daybreak. Those were the good old days for sure!

The stands were full at I-57 last weekend as shown in video on FB. Like it was a family night out. They started later. Just sayin'.

I raced at I57 last night and everything finished a little after 2A:M this morning. Got in bed around 4:30 this morning. I do prefer the night racing, but can understand the view from those that travel a couple hours.

It’s a Benton tradition, great food, lots of spectators, small town feeling and late finish’s

They just emailed the flyer for the sept 14-15 race. What’s the opinion from the mopar crowd?

Over priced for payouts. Off the top of my head I know the all truck class is $75 to enter and $250 to win paying top 4. That's worse that the $40-$300 in sportsman that pays top 8

THE MOPAR EVENT IS A SINGLE ENTRY FEE FOR A 2 DAY PAYOUT . Not a bad payout . Promoter did Bring it back after a year away and has made changes . There is a red arrow includes 2 days on flyer.
Also it’s a 8th mile race except for the modern muscle cars.

I am planning on going - the thing I don't like on the flyer is at the bottom where it says" promoter and GMSP reserve the right to modify race program and payout at any time "
