Those 26 Mopar‘s had to enter the other classes so if they weren’t there the classes really would’ve been low those several of the locals had gone to the no box race. They , ( mopar race, and GMP), WOULD HAD LOT MORE RACERS HAD CHANGED TIME INSTEAD RACING IN FULL BORE HEAT!

With the wind it wasn't that bad. My car doesn't mind. I have to pull the lean out to drive back every run and still have to warm it up before the runs even doubled entered. My radiator is too big for when it is cold though That probably helps with tranny temps. Don't have a gauge. Cooler is seperate from radiator.

My tranny temp comes from heat soak being attached to the steel block.

I'm pretty sure most of them weren't in other classes Last year Mopar Race you were supposed to be entered into GATEWAY’s class and into the Mopar class unless things have changed

The wind helped. Track was greasy but to be expected. Congrats to Tim Foley for the first win in his new car the track was a little greasy @ 144° ,I was lucky enough to get buy some tire spin better than others. the breeze was a lifesaver, I have been more miserable on 85° days in the past

I miss racing at night under the lights when it's a little cooler. I hope everyone who complained about getting home late is happy. Now we get to boil in the sun. I'm betting most of them don't even show up now that we are done before the sun goes down.

i myself prefer being done early. Coming home after midnight on over a 2 hr drive sucks. I'll sacrifice 4 more hours in the heat for it. Reason I hardly go to sikeston or Benton is not just that they are farther but the race goes too late.

I see James point also but in my latest stage of my racing career .I prefer to be done by 9 or 10 pm. And like Jeremy the out of town tracks finish to late then the old long drive home. In my younger days I had no problem getting to Benton at 5 pm make two time runs in the stang finish at 130am drive home with a cooler of road sodas and meet people at pops at 3:30 am . Not now . Heck I won’t even go to Bonne Terre because of the feet dragging. Looking back now this latest stage is a lot more fun and smarter

I'd even go for one time run and no buy backs.

I like the late starts also, because I don't lose an entire day and night for one race and can get stuff done around the house during the day. You will never be able to make all racers happy, no matter what schedule or times put out, it will never suit everyone.

I will say this. When they called us at gateway you get there and within a minute or two you are pulled up and racing, no screwing around. So only a few minutes in the sun is pretty painless

I see racers new to GMP roll into the lanes suited up with belts on, obviously these people have never been to GMP before. I know JMP and CID (used to be) you best be suited up and ready when you leave the trailer.
