It seems like this thread would mostly explain why the low car count. The interesting part is they had a low car count last year too. I would have thought they'd make a few small changes.

I don't know that they want a large car count. With the Nostagia cars they had just about the right amount of filler. I'm sure they wouldn't mind a few more bracket cars but they don't want 100 of them there.

Jeremy is right. I think if they had 40-50 in each class it would make it difficult on them to keep the main show going on schedule. They stick pretty close to the schedule.

Some little track down in Southern Illinois by Rend Lake Where you their ? Me personally, no. But I did see that Phil and Dustin Bryant went and made the comment that they dried the track and called it because it might rain. Although it wasn't at the time.

I was their with Dan Smith , it did rain for a while so we put the car in the trailer and waited for it to stop , when it did and we saw the crew drying the track we puled the car back out of the trailer warmed it up and was getting to go to the lanes when it started raining again so we put the car back in the trailer a second time , I walked up to Scott to see what he was thinking , he was asking racers what they thought and showed me the radar on his phone to show the rain on the way , this was at about 10:30 , Mr. Bryant , myself and Dan was in a group talking to Scott my opinion was to call it and so was Dan's and if I remember correctly Bryants opinion was Scott wasn't going to be able to make every one happy . It the time of the talk it had stopped raining but it started raining again when we were going down Yellow Banks Road .

I was at Gateway and we got a little shower but it only lasted a minute or two. I loaded up and headed home around 9:30 and hit a bunch of rain around Hanley and 70 and it rained on and off until I got through St. Charles. I'm sure that if they tried to dry again it would have made for a much longer evening than usual.

I had a nice conversation with Heather while picking up my cash winnings, she assured me that small adjustments will be made in order to accommodate the Midwest bracket racer. She stated that things that work on the left coast don't necessarily fly around here. I agree they aren't looking to get 100 cars in the bracket classes, but I think 40 is attainable next year, I WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR

I think updates are a issue not the actual program . The rig fees the gate fee they were posted on the websites . If they waived some of those fees then I never saw a amended post other than by racers . Really the only time u see a amended sheet is when you get there with a schedule sheet when you paid .
What bracket racers did pay at gate that maybe didn't get the update or didn't show up because of the known prior fees ?

It says it is $80 to track which comes with one overnight pass. Then you pay track tech card. They didn't waive the fee for overnight it is included with tech card. The overnight fee would be for someone who didn't pay to race want to camp in the pits in an extra tv.

I guess they like what's happening because now they have two races on tap at gateway for 2016.

So by not wanting a hundred bracket cars sound opposite of what we all think the tracks want. What a confusing setup .

Yes, I would think if they had too many bracket cars show up they would have to eliminate buybacks, but that's no big deal. I am in the same boat as Tim, as I will run the race next year. I enjoyed running it last year and even though I broke my engine this past weekend, I was glad I went this year.
