Don't bank on the contingency. The only one I got money from was Mickey Thompson. All others were some product discount. One of them wanted me to send them pucks of my ladder bars for $25. Sine it was the middle if winter and the car was loaded at Jason's I declined. What sucks is the inpector checked my car post race in the lanes. Waited in that line for almost a while wasn't good enough.

So now they add a bracket race to this race . I don't remember how good or bad it was last year ? I've already made plans as usual based on the schedule .
I might still sign up next year but don't count on me staying at Gateway to be a regular as years past .
As others have said other fun races out there to travel to and other things to do .

My opinion was that last year this was one of the better events I went to at Gateway. If you like to watch fast cars it was awesome! The bad deal last year that hurt them was that it was the same weekend as an NMCA race, which is big in the Midwest and many heads up guys follow that series and it is again this year on top of an NMCA race, which will effect car counts. The racing part was good and yes it was pricey, but I am not sure I have ever ran an event at Gateway that I was treated as great by the promoters as I was at this event last year. The only bad I see is yes its a little pricey, they have got rid of all the index classes they had last year, and the payouts are not quite as good. I loved racing the open comp class last year.

I think without a bracket race there will be a lot of downtime because like Clay said they got rid of open comp and mustang madness plus they had like a 7.40 index and 8.40 so a lot of classes are missing with out the brackets I don't see over 55 cars total.
