There really hasn't been a successful Nostalgia Event in the St. Louis area since MAR shut down in 2004. Schneider put on the Hot Rod Reunion at Gateway for a few years and it was pretty well attended but that was when Dover still owned the place and Troxel and Schneider leased the track for their event. Not sure if this is a Gateway event or what it is but when Troxel ran it they did an Electronics Bracket Race as well as a No Box race, ran it in my 34 Roadster. MAR did the same thing, if you wanted to run one of the Nostalgia classes the delay box had to either be out of the car or zeroed and covered up. They are going to cut their own throat on this deal, granted there may be a lot of older cars out there that can run it but most of them don't meet this criteria ie; no modern wheels or scoops or trans brakes. Most transmissions out there (glides anyway) you have to use the trans brake to back the car up

Some of you guys must of skipped school constantly not to understand what your reading. Your picking apart the period correct class. .. This class is for the original appearing cars, no trans brakes, no modern wheels or scoops. 1967 and older cars. Nostalgia 1 and Nostalgia 2 are bracket classes for all others... 1972 and older cars these classes can have trans brakes, modern wheels etc NO ELECTRONICS ALLOWED AT NOSTALGIA EVENTS PERIOD I don't see Nostalgia 1 and Nostalgia 2. I see NOSTALGIA RENDEZVOUS - PRO BRACKET amd NOSTALGIA RENDEZVOUS SPORTSMAN. Only one class can have trans-brakes. It also says 1979 and older not 1972. I find it interesting that Pro allows 4 wheel line locks that I thought were against NHRA rules. And as stated before the Muscle Car Reunion had a Pro Nostalgia class that allowed boxes. They did it the 2nd year after realizing how many cars they were turning away. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=832601103485708&id=175659139179911

The only class that requires Period Correct wheels etc is the PERIOD CORRECT NOSTALGIA CLASS... They had 500 entries at the Meltdown Drags last July... all Period Correct. Its not a rule for all classes Most PERIOD CORRECT CAR oweners know the rules The other two nostalgia classes are for cars that meet the age requirements and can use trans brakes etc. NO ELECTRONICS OR DRIVER AIDS ALLOWED IN NOSTALGIA RACING

The other two nostalgia classes are for cars that meet the age requirements and can use trans brakes etc. NO ELECTRONICS OR DRIVER AIDS ALLOWED IN NOSTALGIA RACING If you are refering to pro and sportsman then only 1 class can have trans-brakes not both. You keep saying "NO ELECTRONICS OR DRIVER AIDS ALLOWED IN NOSTALGIA RACING" but they allow- 4. Trans-brake: Permitted. Iterative staging devices (i.e. the Bump Box) prohibited. 5. Four-wheel line lock: Permitted. 6. Automated shifter: Permitted. 8. Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Starting line and or "high side" rev limiters permitted. Two- steps, rev limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited. That looks like a whole lot of "ELECTRONICS OR DRIVER AIDS". Why is it a problem to add one more class that allows all that and delay boxes? Aren't 4 wheel line locks prohibited by the NHRA?
