Well this weekend I made the long journey to Harrisburg to race for the 1st time. All I can say is myself and the Ratulowski's were blown away! The track has nice paved pitting, good consistent track, very friendly staff, good payouts like we used to have at Gateway years ago, 1 round of buybacks and not 2 like a lot of the other little tracks, and ran the program at a good pace as we started time runs at 4:00 and they ran finals at 10:00. I will go back for sure, but dang I wish it was a little closer. Jay that is running the place now came from Lyons Dragway and is doing a great job there!

Yes I went a few years ago . Very neat little track . Just no easy way to get there. How did you guys do ? I lost with 12 cars left in super pro and 12 cars left in pro. John lost at 6 cars in pro as did Dan Smith and Rich Komor. Took me 2.35 minutes to get there, but the drive is pretty straight, mostly interstate then 30 minutes on the 2 lane road through Benton. The track has a little more shutdown than Benton has. I had some tough races while there. I was dialed 6.11 the entire day and between pro and super pro I left 1st all but once. Had a great race with Eric Paul 1st round as I was .009 pack to his .010 pack. I have to get my night time driving figured out because it is been killing me the last couple years! I just drop off so much on the tree when the lights come on at night. Between hitting the top and the bottom I was anywhere from .001 - .021 on the tree, but once the lights came on I was .032 - .056 which puts you on the trailer every time!

Was there any people in the stands? I guess in Harrisburg, there are less things to do on a weekend. Did most people double enter pro and superpro or was there a separate set of fast pro cars.

Myself and Dan Smith were the only ones I knew of, that was running both super pro and pro. There were several guys running both pro and footbrake though.

Barc and I used to go there a lot. Back when Gene was running the place. Good ole two lane black top! I heard it got revamped with a lot of nice upgrades. Just haven't wanted to drive that far to race. Wish those guys well.

I remember playing a band job at the Harrisburg high school prom. Our truck broke down on. The way there. We got there late . The job went ok . But the next week ourbooking agent received letters (this is beforeemail) from students saying we ruined one of the most important days in their lives... the school. Didn't pay us. That had to be 35 or more years ago

We had never been there, so was just looking for something different and that is why we did not go to Benton. We had no idea of how nice it was going to be though, so with that said, it will not be hard to drive past to go there again!
