Interviewing skilled auto techs for immediate opening.
Are you an above average technician that is not satisfied working on the everyday grind?
Can you perform efficient diagnosis followed up by neat and tidy work?
Do you enjoy working on custom and performance vehicles?
We have a unique type of shop that may interest you. It's not for everybody.
We perform custom and high performance work on everything from old street rods to drag race cars.
We also service "regular cars", domestics only.
We also buy and sell some cars and trucks.
Reputable technical training required.
Minimum 5 years professional experience within the automotive diagnostic, repair and maintenance field.
ASE certifications a plus but not required.
MO State Inspector License required. Or willing to take test and get licensed.
Acceptable personal tools expected.
Unit repair (transmission, transfer case, differentials, engine, etc) a plus.
Reliable attendance mandatory. If you cannot make it on time as expected regularly, please do not apply.
No smoking policy in shop. If you are a smoker you can take a couple breaks a day no problem. If your habit is worse than that you should not apply.
Cell phone use during work time prohibited. If this is a problem do not apply.
Classic car knowledge and experience a plus.
Diagnostic skill is important. We are not looking for "best guessers". An understanding of electrical principals, data communications systems, basic engine mechanical, transmission (auto and manual), HVAC (auto and manual), braking systems (base, anti-lock and traction control), suspension and steering systems, etc, is expected. You don't have to be an engineer. Just understand the basics.
M-F daytime hours.
Heated and cooled shop.
Paid national holidays.
Paid vacations.
We service domestics only (GM, Ford, Dodge, and Jeep).
Performance and/or racing background a plus.
Custom tuning of carburetor, distributor, and EFI a plus.
Dynomometer experience a plus.
Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
Weekly salary. No flat rate, commission, or schemes of any kind. No stupid gimmicks to get you in the door. Family owned shop. G-rated atmosphere.
There will be no purple ribbons or gold stars for showing up to work every day on time. Excellent performance and attitude will be rewarded. Regular reviews and pay raises.
If this sounds interesting to you then send me a brief story about yourself. In particular, training, recent work history and what makes you a good fit in shop.
Thanks,
Tom Heaney
