The 5th annual JEGS “Fall” Door Car Shootout is just around the corner (October 2-4). As you know, we’ve limited participation in the race to the first 225 entrants due to pit parking limitations. If you pre-entered and cannot attend on October 2-4, your $100 deposit will be refunded in full, no questions asked. With that said, we do currently have over 20 alternates waiting to get a spot in the elite event. So if you know in advance that you will not be able to attend this year’s event, please let us know as soon as possible so that other racers can enjoy the JEGS Fall Door Car Shootout. We will refund your entry immediately, and notify the next available alternate that they have a spot.

The JEGS “Fall” Door Car Shootout returns to I-57 Dragstrip next weekend, October 2-4. Due to the change in date (the event was originally scheduled for mid-July), several of the racers who pre-entered the 5th annual event are not able to attend next week. At this point, we have exhausted our list of alternate entrants and we're a handful of entries below the 225 entrant maximum (225 cars is all that we can comfortably park inside the facility). We know that several racers would jump at the opportunity to attend the “Biggest Little Door Car Race in the Midwest,” but felt as if they could not get in. For the first time in months, there are immediate spots available in the event.

In an effort to control the crowd, we are still limiting the event to the first 225 entrants – pre-entry only (no new entries will be sold at the gate); but the list is fluid at this point as pre-entered drivers call every day to inform us that they cannot attend. As of this writing, we have 7 spots available; there will likely be more slots that open up over the next few days. To enter, we require a $100 deposit. If you are unable to attend for any reason, that $100 will be refunded in full, no questions asked. If you'd like to enter, contact Jessica Bogacki at 618-559-5483. Entries will be filled as deposits are taken; I don't think these handful of spots will last long!

Fuel, Tires, and Other At-Track Services

A few notes on products and services that will be available at the track next week:

Fuel:
If you need fuel for the JEGS Fall Door Car Shootout, I-57 Dragstrip will have a limited supply of methanol for sale at $3/gallon. If you'd like to purchase a drum of methanol or gas (by the drum or gallon) to pick up at the event (methanol drum price is $155), please contact Scott Bailey no later than Tuesday, 9-29. Scott's number is 618-513-0165.

Tires:
Ronnie Maggart will have the Hoosier tire trailer on hand all weekend. Ronnie will be happy to mount and balance your new set of Hoosiers; he's also available for service, mounting, balancing and more for SDCS racers regardless of their brand of tires! To order in advance, call Ronnie at 615-683-3724.

Other Products/Services:
Several additional SDCS supporters will be onhand throughout the weekend. Order in advance, and save shipping by getting your products at the event. Be sure to stop in and see them for your high performance needs, or simply to say “thank you” for their support of the “Biggest Little Door Car Race in the Midwest.”

Holley Performance: Visit the Holley Performance trailer for all of your Holley, Hooker, Weiand, NOS, Quickfuel, and Earl's Plumbing needs!

BTE: The BTE trailer will also be on the grounds, featuring transmissions, torque converters, service parts, and accessories. Stop in and see Bryan and the BTE staff!

JEGS Fall Door Car Shootout Parking

We realize you’re all big boys and girls and you know how to park. We’re assisting everyone with parking; please don’t take that as an insult. You've all been here before, so you understand that we're cramped for space. With the recent renovations, we have more room than ever, but the layout is different so the parking plan has changed slightly. Please work with us on this.

Early Arrivals:
The track will be open on Thursday for early bird parking. We’ll have an official onhand to park entrants until roughly 10:00 PM. The gates will remain open all night; we’ll have a holding lot on site for late arrivals, and we'll pull you into your spots Friday morning.


Reserved Spots:
I-57 Dragstrip does have reserved parking spots for weekly competitors, and we will be honoring the reserved spots this weekend. Approximately 20 of the reserved spot holders are entered in the event. We’ll also have a handful of spots reserved for race sponsors and vendors. Any other spots will be open to anyone (first come, first serve – we will allow spot saving for your racing buddies within reason), and all reserved spots will be clearly marked.

New for 2015: Text Alert Program!

The PA system at I-57 Dragstrip has undergone massive improvements, so we're confident that it can be heard anywhere in the facility. In addition, we'll also utilize a Racer Information Board by the tower to post daily schedules, prize winners, and updated round/color/class calls. In addition, we'll have our familiar runner circling the pits making sure everyone in outlying areas knows what round and color is running. Just to make sure that everyone stays abreast of what's going on and where we're at in the program, we've also adopted a new text message alert program for the 5th annual event. We'll text out all class calls, round calls, color calls, bye run information, and any other pertinent info as it happens throughout the event – straight to your phone! To sign up for the text alerts, simply text @doorcar to 81010 (you will not receive additional texts/spam prior to or following the event).

Sunday Blind “Dial for Dollars” to Benefit the JEGS Foundation for Cancer Research

2015 marks the third consecutive year the JEGS “Fall” Door Car Shootout has held this special fund-raiser, and with your help and generosity we've raised over $5,000 for the JEGS Foundation. While it's a really great addition to the “Biggest Little Doorcar Race in the Midwest,” and benefits a great cause, it's also been the source of some confusion in past years. Here's how it works.

The ONLY time trial Sunday morning is the “Dial for Dollars” to benefit the JEGS Foundation.

It is optional! The cost for the JEGS Dial for Dollars is $10. If you don't want to participate, you don't have to (if you choose not to participate, you will not get a time trial). To participate, you must bring $10 to the staging lanes when your run color is called. Upon paying the $10, you will receive a complimentary JEGS Foundation Ribbon decal for your car.

Over 100% of the money raised will be donated directly to the JEGS Foundation for Cancer Research. We don't make a dime off of this program, and we have (and will continue) to make additional donations on top of the cash received from you racers.

The tree WILL be staggered! This will run just like an elimination round, so enter your opponent's dial-in in your delay box!

Prizes go to the best PACKAGE! The three best packages of the blind “Dial for Dollars” to Benefit the JEGS Foundation for Cancer Research will receive great prizes courtesy of event sponsors:

First Place: $500 JEGS Gift Certificate
Second Place: Mark Sullens E85 Carburetors $402 Gift Certificate
