I agree they should have more 2 day events they need to give it a shot cause a lot if guys might stick around for a race on Sunday if its worth the time like a box/no-box or a 1500 dollar race set up like king of the track they need more of a schedule all around

Have said for a long time that 2 day races are a huge plus. Give racers more for their gas costs. If I were running a track, I would look long & hard at doing a double weekend, then closed, then a double, etc. I'd also have a bigger payout race once a month.
Granted, they have a great area to draw cars from but, look no farther than Byron. BY FAR the best run bracket series in the region & very high car counts.

List em. I'll see if they are at CID sat. If not I'll find out if they went to Ccd. I'm NOT going to list anybody elses name on the net. I can tell you for sure Jeff has ran off a few guys since he has managed the track. More will follow if he don't change his ways. You say you will not list anyone else's name on here yet in the same post complain about someone by name. I don't doubt the track has problems but you seem like you have a bone to pick and grasp as everything you can to complain.

The Footbrake challenge race was cancelled and the Spring Nostalgia race has replaced it. Sounds like Illinois Valley Seed has pulled it's sponsorship now too.
Sucks...

I was going to be in memphis racing on that date so personally I like a date change but I think you are correct that it will be cancelled.

yeah that race is done and if they do run it I guarantee the money will not be there and the payout will be based on car count and no guaranteed money at all its sad cause I know that it was going to be a great racers race and not just a show and yes IVS has pulled the sponsorship because of their decision to cancel it instead of running it with the nostalgia I think even if they decided to push it to sunday they still would of had a great turn out cause some of the cars from Saturday would of stayed and raced again but like always this track seems to ruin something that could of be great and could of grown over the years so I am really thinking that this management needs a second look.

Dennis, may 1st and 2nd T n T. May 8th and 9th closed for track rental. they were rained out on the 15th and 16th. Closed 22nd and 23rd track rental. they could have held a bracket race on the 22nd and 23 and track rental 24th and 25th. cancelled early for the 29th and 30th. that right there would make me look for somewhere to race.
Jeremy, you wanted names, put me on the list, will be going to GMP or CCD, had planned on going to both nostalgia races and possibly the foot brake challenge. FORGET IT!!!!! One other poster on this thread has said he will no longer go to C I D, and that is either 2 or 3 vehicles. 92ga and 9 second Camaro sound like they are a no shows as well. I could name a couple of heavy hitters who are gone, as well as 2 more racers.
Chad, when I go over to C C D I go on a friday afternoon and try to test on the family fun night and stay over for the saturday race as well. now on several weekends, like last weekend it did not work out. RAINED out Saturday. But you are right, many racers want a 2 or 3 day event, some track could have T n T on friday, bracket race saturday and sunday, and if Monday were a holiday as well maybe a big dollar race then.

Of those people, how many times have they raced this year? There has been plenty of opportunity. Are they really boycotting the track or are they those that hardly race? How many times did they actually race when they weren't boycotting the track?
Like I said I don't doubt there is problems but some are pissed off and doing everything thy can to bash every aspect of the track.

I don't know of hardly anyone that was boycotting gateway that actually raced elsewhere much.
I don't have a problem with people boycotting. That is how you voice your opinion. I doubt that some is those screaming are actually racing at all. There are several that "boycott" gateway bc of no guaranteed money. Yet in reality that don't really race much and that is just a good reason to not be there. Like I said the track has problems I get it but some, including you, are so pissed at it they are listing reasons that are being done at other tracks they don't have a problem with. vWhat sense does that make?
Also to complain about a business trying to make money by calling it greed? What do you they are supposed to do?

I don't doubt that some are racing somewhere else. My point was I think those numbers are being exaggerated by those that are ao pissed at the track and bitching about things that aren't the real problem. What are your complaints with the track? IMO the number one problem hurting the bracket program is the payouts to entry ratio as well as how far back it pays.

I used to race 3 weekends a month for years. Since this newer management, and not just this one I scaled back. I have not raced another track since going to Midstate in 2000. I had 2 cars going for years, I haven't driven since my heart attack at the end of 2010, but I have had a car there. Since Jeff started running the place I did start relaxing how many times we went. I got fed up when I seen the new rules come out this year and sold the car. We're not racing someplace else, we're not racing at all anymore. But I do know some guys that will go to CCD, that raced every week at CID for the last 2 years. I would not have sold the car if we didn't have what I call problems. If some don't see a problem with the way the place is run, good, go spend your money there.

I'm not sure what Jeff has done to make you guys mad and I don't want to know. I'm not going jump on the bash Jeff train, but I'm also not going to apologize for his decisions this year so far either. My experience there has been good with Jeff as the track manager. Sure he doesn't ride around like Rod and greet every new racer that comes through the gate and personally thank them but he's always been friendly to me when I see him. He's not as outgoing as Rod and some take that as him not caring about the racers. Rod does a great job making racers feel welcome as has Ron Veach and Dave Wallace before him at CCD. How many other tracks do what Rod does? Not many I have ever been to. Rod has had his growing pains with his racers too the last few years. It looks like he has things turned around there. Jeff has always treated me fairly and has never been rude. I race there most every weekend and they run a smooth program, the rules don't change from week to week, and from what I've seen he treats everyone fairly. I remember one night I questioned the guy running the staging lanes about the bye run at 3 cars. I knew the rule from the way things were run for the last 25 years. Jeff was called over and he stopped the race for about 10 minutes while we looked up the rule. I'm sure he wasn't too happy with me. As it worked out I was wrong and the rule had been changed that year. He could have told me to get in the car and race or go home. Instead he took the time to makes sure things were done right. I appreciated that. I apologized, we raced, and all was good. I know problemchild won't like any manager there unless it's his buddy Bob. That's just the way it's going to be. Some read things into the rules that really aren't there. Some are mad because of the way he's changed the Nostalgia Quick Series this year. I think one of the best things they have done is to go IHRA. Some don't like that. I'm sure he has made you guys mad in one way or the other and that's fine, we will still be friends at the end of the day. I will say there are things that have changed that I don't like or agree with too. But it's not a deal breaker for me. For some it is. Like the 11:00am start time on Saturdays. We will lose a few racers because of that. Heck I don't even like the 1:00pm start time. The reason to run Saturdays was to have a night race to stay out of the heat of the day. But that's not going to change my mind about racing there. I don't understand not racing on Sundays when Saturdays get rained out. But that's not a deal breaker either. I'f I want to race on Sunday I'll go somewhere else to race that week. I'm not very happy about not getting to race yet this year but that has been mostly because of rain outs and a late start on the schedule. All in all I think he's done a good job. It's ok if we don't agree but this has been my experience racing there every weekend. Your mileage may differ. I think everyone is frustrated about not racing yet this year and are looking to blame somebody besides mother nature. Right now it's looking good for this Saturday to get our first race in. Thank God because I really need some seat time before the No Box Nationals next weekend.
