Ok guys I need help deciding if I should keep the spool that's in my car or replace it. My new car has a Mark Williams aluminum center section and aluminum spool. It's very light mark Williams says I don't need a new spool some say I shouldn't leave it in there to bracket race every weekend. I need opinions. Thanks kevin

Leave it. Use what you have. You're going down in gear ratio (?) and the car is light, anyway.

35 or 40 spline? I have a steel 40 spline in mine. For the difference in weight I think the steel would give me some piece of mind. I have an aluminum 35 spline one laying around the shop somewhere if you want it.

If it's good run it. When the splines wear out I would get a steel one for bracket racing. Durability is more valuable that a weight savings in that department to me.
