I like the fact that there is an 8.0 index class.. That is a good spot IMO
Is it a full tree heads up, or .500 pro tree? If it is a pro tree, I suggest talking to management and Mitch on the line about auto start being turned off to allow everyone fair chance to deep stage if they choose.

Thanks for your input Adam! Always appreciated. We run on a 400 pro tree. No deep staging but I have kicked it around. We keep this very basic. Come join us sometime... Just as an FYI to all we are kicking around a reschedule. We learned today a lot of our fast guys can't make it. I will keep everyone posed via this thread. We are kicking around Friday the 27th. Does anyone on here have a strong desire to keep it on Saturday night? If I could get CID street cars to commit I might be able to convince other street car guys to hold this date. Your thoughts please....
Thank you, Joe

Not sure if it would matter, but the 27th is the kick off cruise for the Route 66 festival in Springfield. Huge cruise with a lot of cars in it. Not sure how many of these cars would be potential racers, but just a FYI.

Some of you may have already seen it on the tracks home page but our event has been rescheduled for Friday night the 27th of September. Many of our fast street cars were attending another event on the 21st.
Understand the conflict with the Springfield car show and thanks to Hooter for the heads up on that. Will just have to see what happens.
Please come out and join us! We have winner and runner up plaques for both classes, and rumor is some additional sponsor cash will be placed into both pots for this evening.
Jeff the CID track manager is asking for car counts so if you are planning to join us could you please let me know via this thread.
Thank you!

Well the short answer is a 6.15ish.
The long answer is the fast class that evening was a bit of a debaukle. We only had 3 cars which was a bit depressing for such a beautiful evening. Round one was CID's own Byron Kinney which was narrowly defeated by a Ford Fairmount out of Missouri. The 3rd car had the bye based on reaction time during the Pro tree practice run. When it came time for the Fairmount to face off against the Firebird (the event winner) the Fairmount discovered he had cracked his converter housing during the pass against Byron. The rest is history and a bit of a debaukle. Thanks to Byron Kinney for being a supporter of our event!
A know alot of knowledgeable people view this site and I am asking for the suggestions you Oak Trees may have. Our fast class needs cars! We are being very open. Our only rule is that its a car with mufflers. thats it... If your car is capable of a low 6 or upper 5 you are dead in the mix for some heads up all out Drag racing.
Are 8.0 index is really catching on! People have a blast. And even better you should see the look on peoples faces when we hand them $300 and a winners plaque for going 4 rounds! One guy tried to give it back, said he didn't deserve it. Hes a regular now...
Thanks again to everyone, Joe
