The electricity will soon be flowing at IHRA drag races thanks to an alliance with the National Electric Drag Racing Association. The IHRA will recognize electric drag racing in both cars and motorcycles, including junior dragsters, in their latest rule book. NEDRA's President, Mike Willmon and Vice President Roderick Wilde, along with the IHRA's Skooter Peaco and Mike Baker have worked to make this a reality. According to a news release from NEDRA, this association will be mostly beneficial to Western Canada. The National Electric Drag Racing Association, a non-profit Washington State corporation, exists to increase public awareness of electric vehicle (EV) performance and to encourage through competition, advances in electric vehicle technology. NEDRA is a worldwide coalition of drag racing fans, electric drag racing vehicle owners and drivers, individuals interested in promoting the sport of EV drag racing, EV parts suppliers, EV manufacturers and other environmentally concerned companies and individuals. Working together as a group, we put excitement into electric vehicle drag racing. There is no word at this time how these cars will fit into the current IHRA national and divisional programs crossbonesracing.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hybrid&action=post

Quite nice post! I also have to find a good electric car and someone suggested Datsun. Do you think Datsun is a good option? If not then please anyone here recommend some other options and Electric car buyers guide so that I can make my decision. I own a Chevy Volt. I think it's one of the best cars we've ever made. It's not a race car but runs good.

If I remember correctly there were combined incentives from GM and the fed gov that make it very affordable as well.
