#4 is a trick question. The GM X body was actually introduced at the end of 1978 although they weren't made available to the public until 1979. They had something like 21 different recalls that had to be performed before they could be sold. And the model year was 1980

If I had a nickel for everyone one of those I worked on I would have a whole lot of nickels. And the brake system was wonderful too. I told some engineers that came to the shop once that they should have stuck to driving trains cause they didn't know know a damn thing about building a car. The GM Rep told us that it was the first in what was going to become a long line of disposable cars.

If you run in the mid 12 second range on DOT street tires will you need a drive shaft loop per NHRA? Sorry, that is incorrect. In the 2012 NHRA Rulebook on page 3 of E. T. section 4A, DRIVELINE it states "Driveshaft loop required on all cars running 13.99 (*8.59) or quicker and utilizing slicks, except vehicles running 11.49 (*7.35) seconds or slower equipped with street tires." No loop needed with street tires until 11.49.
