Aaaayyyyy! Wanna buy a celebrity bike?
A Los Angeles auction will feature the Triumph Trophy TR5 that rode The Fonz to fame in the 1970s TV show “The Happy Days.” True, the bike has seen happier days. It turned up stashed in the back of an enthusiast’s shop waiting for repairs. It had not been ridden since the show ended in 1984 and its owner had no idea of its provenance, according to the Daily Mail.
Even as a fixer-upper, the bike is expected to bring more than $100,000 in a Los Angeles auction Nov. 12.
'This is the coolest motorbike ever - you would be hard pushed to find a cooler one. The two things that represent The Fonz are his black leather jacket and his bike,” says Nick Smith, of auctioneer Bonhams.'It was a bike that got an awful lot of people into motorcycling, because Happy Days was on prime-time TV and it obviously made the character look cool. 'It would be quite something if you could say that you owned Fonzie's motorbike.'
