There's a lot of race cars out there with the name Goodyear on the tires. I have 3 questions. You can only get credit for answering 1 correctly. 3 people can get 2pts each.
1. What was the year Goodyear first appeared in a race?
2. What year did Goodyear introduce it's new family of Eagle high-performance tires at Daytona?
3. What year did Goodyear introduce its Wrangler brand tires to the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series?

Goodyear`s first foray into racing, and its first victory, came when Henry Ford put Goodyear rubber on his car sponsored by the Detroit Driving Club. The year was 1901

Goodyear Race Tires to Tout Wrangler Brand On NASCAR Craftsman Trucks in 2004
Akron, Ohio, Nov. 14, 2003 -- The rising popularity of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series combined with the continuing growth of the consumer truck and sport utility vehicle tire markets has prompted The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to take its Wrangler brand to the track for the 2004 season.
"Goodyear's racing radial tires produced for the Craftsman Truck Series will be re-badged from Goodyear Eagle to Goodyear Wrangler to further target our Wrangler brand, which is number one in sales to consumers in America," according to Thomas Becker, marketing manager for Goodyear light truck and SUV tires.
"Linking NASCAR and Wrangler, both number one in their respective fields, further reinforces the ongoing success of Goodyear's 50-year involvement with NASCAR," Becker noted. "The sport's predominately family-oriented NASCAR fans tend to skew more heavily toward truck and SUV ownership, a fact that fits right into our marketing strategy." On the operations side, "the Goodyear racing operation in the garage area will not change as a result of using both Eagle and Wrangler branded tires in NASCAR's top three series," explained Stu Grant, general manager of global race tires.
"In reality, the tires are the same as those used under the Eagle name, with the only difference being the sidewall nameplate," said Grant. "We will be using the same Goodyear tires for the Craftsman Truck Series as we will for the Nextel Cup Series and the Busch Series next year when they race at the same track on any given weekend."
Although the truck series will race on Wrangler brand tires, Grant said Goodyear will provide a means of converting tires with the Eagle name to Wrangler, and vice versa, at the company's race tire warehouse facility in Concord, N.C. That will allow truck teams to continue the practice of racing on tires that are purchased by Nextel Cup and Busch series teams in 2004, but not used by them.
