Looking for ideas on getting a dent out of stainless steel header tubes.
I'm sending the header and up pipe off of the Busa in for ceramic coating and I thought I would straighten them out before doing so.

Update. I found out that filling it with water and freezing it will do the trick. Sometimes. Other times it will actually split the seam. Ouch!
Ok Denny, you try it first and let me know if it works. ;D

Headers have water in them and are in the freezing process now. Will post result Tuesday to see if this works or not.

OK, I was going to try it first, but now I'll wait for your results before doing mine. Its sounds like a good idea.

You know me, I can't set still for 2 seconds. I figure we might as well get this under way so if it does split I can get it welded asap.
My discount from NitroPlate expires at the end of the month.

Unbelievable. After 1st try 90% of one dent is gone and second dent is gone completely. These dents were in 90* bends near the bottom of the bike. The pipes were 1/3 smashed shut. I did not plug the ends. I sat the pipes in a 5 gallon bucket in a "V" shape and poured water in, not full but @ 6 inches down from the top. I will try again tonight to see if I can get it perfect. The best part is I didn't have to put them in a freezer, I just set them outside.

Screw it I'm going to Florida to the PRI Show and spend a week down there. You guys keep me informed on the weather up here while I'm down in Florida and it's 70 degrees
