Even though Denny Slusser wins the second to last Gateway points race he is still second to Dusty Katich on his R1. This sets up another situation where the points champion will be determined at the last race of the year. Although as an owner I would like to see my bike and rider win the championship, in reality these two racers are team mates and race out of the same stables with their team mate John Koehne. In my eyes, no matter who wins the championship, this will be a "dream season" if you will. Any time team mates can finish this high in the season it is a win win for all racers, sponsors and team members involved. I know the bike class has not always been Gateways "jewel" but I guarantee you in the past couple of years I have been involved with them they show the same professionalism and dedication as any class Gateway has to offer. The next time you see some of these bike in the staging lanes look closely at their machines, the attention to detail rivals that of any racecar on property.
The 3 bike racers we help sponsor, Dusty Katich, Denny Slusser and John Koehne have done a fantastic job in the 2010 Race season.
See you all at the next race!

Thanks Mark, I agree with everything you said except for the part about who you HELP sponsor. You may HELP Dusty and John, but with me its different, I'll explain... YOU own the motorcycle YOU decided to race it in the Pro Bike class YOU haul it back and forth to the track YOU do all the maintence and up keep, including fuel YOU fix, or pay to fix, anything that breaks YOU have that Bike in Show quality, Race ready condition every race day........ All I have to do is get on and twist the throttle ;D YOU must be my Secret Santa

Thanks for the kind words Denny. BUT I think John actually has it better. His bike owner doesn't pace frantically back and forth between rounds hovering over his rider asking him every 2 seconds what his next dial in is going to be. ;D As a matter of fact John sometimes walks around the pits asking, "has any body seen Denny lately?"

Suddenly I feel like I'm getting screwed. Just kidding I get the same treatment for the OAS races.

As the last points event gets closer, I can hear Dusty all the way from my house praying for an extended heat wave. Over 100* of course. Denny and John on the other hand, they would race if it was raining. Anything for 10 points! ;D

Congrats to Dusty Katich for winning the 2010 Gateway Pro Bike Championship. Denny Slusser won the last 2 races and still came up short behind the R1. John Koehne had a great 1st season also getting 2 runner-up's at one of the toughest race tracks around. Good job by all!
