So I'm just about to pull the trigger on a 2019 Harley road king. A big tour bike. And then I see these electric motorcycles. Killer From the videos these electric bikes can haul a** And sound awesome. Like right out of a science fiction movie. I need to go ride one.

What they didn't show on the movie Tron was all the riders that got killed because people pull out in front of them because motorcycles are smaller and harder to see and the silent ones you can't hear either . I wish I knew how many times I almost walked in front of a car going through the pits because they were rolling through with the motor off lol

I know. And probably not really for me but These bikes are technology showcases. So there's one priced at $49,000. It has stuff like lean angle computer assisted antilock brakes and some thing like 300 ft pounds of torque. I think the new big twin Harley engine has 100 ft pounds of torque at the crank. The tron bikes probably had collision avoidance countermeasures built in.
Crazy times. Harley Davidson is afraid there customers are dieing off. And the next generation of potential buyers are more technology driven and not mechanically inclided.
A real eye opener for a dinosaur like me.

Technology for the sake of technology isn’t always a good thing. Just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should.

EV's are the future. They offer everything consumers want. Once people see enough of them out there and the scare wears off. Remember how evil fuel injection was 30 years ago? Try and buy a carbureted car now.

My Volt is the best car I've ever owned. My wife's Monte Carlo isn't to bad either 418,000 miles never had a head off still gets 28 mpg last set of tires 110,000 and it has original struts and shocks. Never did a wheel alignment either. Is starting to use oil between oil changes about a 1.5 quarts in 10,000 miles. Amsoil since 20,000 miles

The wheel is the electric motor. Now that's some thinking!
