This may be a dumb question, but once you've run through oil with your slick can it be cleaned off. When my son's engine let go it ended up with a dinner plate size spot on 1 slick only.

This might sound strange but here goes. When we raced juniors it was a common practice to scrub the slicks with Simple Green and water. Then when they were dry we would put some WD40 on the tread. This would make the tires feel and work like brand new.

back when we ran jrs at mar,which my son was a 4 time track champ with almost a 100 wins,i cleaned the jrs tires with gas,but not sure about doing it on a big car tire

I'd say one good burnout would fix it. or dawn soap
