I saw a post that CID will not be having buybacks in 2015 .What are the opinions on this new concept ? I wouldn't travel now to any track now if I spent my time travel and Fuel . But we did years ago have no buybacks and only had one class to race in .

Stupid if true But I see buybacks in rules www.centralillinoisdragway.com/Racing_Fees.htmlIf this is true Just another reason Jeff has run off the et racers Oh ya I forgot since they switched to nostalgia racing they don't need buyback Better watch what I say I might get served with a restraining order by the sheriff for using my amendment rights....like I care won't race there till Jeff is replaced Used to be jr friendly track but he has ruined that to I think what u are seeing is q16 can't buyback into s/pro or pro but can enter both Ya that stirred up q16 racers last year

I see buybacks also. But me personally I would always prefer no buybacks. It adds hours to the program that is long enough and costs the racers more money and puts extra laps on the car that are not needed.

If there wasn't buybacks they wouldn't make any money.

I like one round of buy backs , I don't think I would pull my junk that far knowing their was no second chance , I need the practice , Its the first or second round, and the first and second round buy backs that are a little to much for me .

If there wasn't buybacks they wouldn't make any money. Chris told me earlier last year that the track can make more money without buybacks . Gateway is different than little tracks that need buybacks. They would save a ton buy the huge crew of employees clocking out earlier and turning off the big lights ect.

Gateway is different than little tracks that need buybacks. They would save a ton buy the huge crew of employees clocking out earlier and turning off the big lights ect. I've heard he said this and I would argue it is false. Let's say there is 15 employees at 10 per hour and they have to work 2 hours extra. That is 300 bucks. That is 10 buybacks. We never got into the lights this year with the time we started. So that is a non issue. Even it was 500 more that is roughly 15 buybacks. I know there are more than that many buybacks. Also this is not taking into the fact that there are aeveral entries that will be lost if there is no buybacks. What if you lose 10 entries That is 500 and and over a 100 in buybacks. Once you are there and open I would argue these are the most profitable hours. It takes 8 to 10 hours to make your profit on the initial entries and only and hour or two ore to make your buyback profit. If it really was true wouldn't you see many tracks around the country that are no buybacks. Those guys that run them aren't dummies they would have changed by now if it were true.

Also looking at many of the decisions made I would hazard a guess that not everything is done to maximize profit. Ie the nights there is only one class. I see a lot of things that make sure it is a get in an get out program.

NO Buybacks no me and my cars. I did not like it when Gateway went to no points for guys that buyback years back. I definitely would not like eliminating them all together. Not sure its a good idea. But its not up to me as I have not been to CID since Jaclyn owned it. But if its what the racers want I see no problem with it. That does not seem to be the case here though.

that whole buy-back is confusing. as i read quick 16 can not buy-back into s/p or pro, but they can enter both Q 16 and either s/p or pro.
those who do not qualify in Q 16 and first round of Q 16 losers will have there own class run off.
Hunters link does not take you to the right spot. go on their web page and look at the rules section

That's correct. Here is old way:
Q16 losers from 1st round & non qualifiers went right into S/P. (losers went into S/P 2nd rd) Now, the problem was we could not enter S/P and run both classes because if I lost 1st round and dropped into S/P...I lost an entry.
Today:
1st rd losers & non qualifies run a consolation race. You can enter both classes now and could possibly get 1- Q16 race, 1- small consol race if you lose, (real small pot), & run S/P.
I like it WAY better plus the track can get double entries from Q16 guys. Pretty smart plan to me.
