After reading the article I looked it up. No worries here as I can't program my DVR or work more than 1/2 the apps on my phone. That's what grand kids are for! LOL

Pat, They have been around for some time. What he said is absolutely a fact...these ignition control devices can make your car run the number every time. Add to that a modern injection system (which is also programmable) and you have, well...a nice consistent race car. Even though sanctioning bodies deem certain ignition boxes illegal, when was the last time your ignition box was checked by tech? People are going to bend the rules and yes, cheat. Can't do anything about it. Would be great though, to hear about a racer being arrested for theft because the track caught him and called the police. (or her)

I have a digital programable msd box. The NHRA legal one. If it detects traction control it will lock out at 4000 rpm or until NHRA resets or powered up for 24 hours. I'm not smart enough to use the legal part of it. If my race pac was working I could see tire spin at x amount and retard timing to compensate tire spin. Legal traction control.

All they need to do is enforce the rules that are already in the rulebook. Then when the first one is caught. Make them pay for it. And I don't mean a year vacation and a couple hundred dollar fine. I'm talking 10 years and 50K fine. If that is done it will only take 1 time to fix the entire problem. Because anyone else doing it or thinking about doing it will change their plans real quick. Just look at nitrous in Pro Stock. Only took one time and that problem went away. Look at the Matty Box only took 1 incident at the old Moroso race and that has not been heard of since. If you have to cheat to win are you really a winner? I cant imagine what its like to have a room full of trophy's and every time you look at them you know you cheated to get them. I may never do anything spectacular in this sport. But I will quit before I cheat to win anything.
