does anyone run nitrous with ally. I know they sell kits for this application, but I have been told run a separate fuel system with gas to supply the fuel side of the system. Making it engine on alky with the nitrous/gas introduced when system is activated. Any advice would be appreciated.

We have tried it both ways, it seems to work better if you run an additional fuel cell on it and run gas through it.
Good luck with it

Doc,
What are your goals/intentions with the nitrous? How much you wanna spray?
sg3526 and 548h, please explain what or why it's better with the separate fuels.
Of course I can be viewed as biased because I can sell an NX nitrous kit for alky but our experience with customers and also use is that a NX kit works really good especially if the amount of nitrous is 300hp or below. Now if the customer intended on spraying more than that or is using 2 guns then depending on a lot of engine factors then gas over gas would probably be better.

Less additional liquid fuel going into cylinder. Solenoid and plumbing not affected by gas like alcohol.
Personally i would prefer to run strictly gas if I we're spraying nitrous for both.

Scott, we used gas simply because it seemed to perform better. Alky seemed to cause a fluctuation in fuel pressure but it may have been that he was spraying a 450 shot. With the gas they alky pressure stays steady and it just seemed easier to tune plus being a seperate system you run an additional pump.

I'm not actually planning to run no more than 300 at first, working up from 50. I had already started building the system on one of the cars with a separate fuel system and have not yet tested it. I bought a Wilson Proflow gas plate, and just had a couple people tell me I should have bought a alky setup. I just want to build something that is some what simple and does what it's needs to do. I do plan to tune on a chassis dino. I do have a couple of cars that already have gas proshot foggers already plumbed, but we've never wired them up. Currently our engine builder has all of our engines on alky, and he isn't to excited about us experimenting with nitrous, but its gonna happen anyway. Thanks for the all advice.

We used the nx kit for alky. We sprayed 300 in top of a 582 that make 986 hp with no spray. We had a mechanical pump connected to a fuel log. We just t'ed off the the log. It worked fine. We even did it on the dyno inane sure the a/f ratio was fine and it didn't lean out.

wow, your setup sounds like the direction we are trying to go, I think I need to look into the nx system.

did you use the recommended baseline jets outlined in the kit, or did you have some idea what jets to start with based on your power levels based on previous experience.

We used the jets they sent for 300 hp. We dynoed it and it made right at 300 hp in the nose.
