"Very simular to sieskton track but way short "
the 4.89 Dixie Door Slammers race at SDS quite often and STOP w/o dropping the laundry. Jim Wade races there EVERY weekend with his Firebird and never uses the chute. 4.70 dragsters are there too and never use the chutes..... Crazy? YES!!....but they do it !!!!!

Just as the some tracks used to hold 1/4 mile changed went to 1000 ft and 1/8 mile due to cars running faster. Tracks not being long enough causing fatailities These short tracks will either cut back fast cars or make thier rracks longer to accomidate the cara going quicker . This owner i do believe is catering to the fact that there happenes to be more gained by slower cars When SDS god forbids gets fatality due to cars ability to stop in a safe manor thats when youll see changes

We took the Mustang. 1st time there. They are still working things out. We had a good time. Tommy won the 6.0 bracket in the Mustang. Not sure but i would guess there could have been 100 cars there? The tree could be farther out and higher up. The parking was a little goofed up. The shut down was abrupt but not unsafe, IMO. Might be short for a dragster. Don't own one so I can't comment with authority on that one.

I would say by choice . And if he starts loading cars he can add on By choice !? Well ,, if he researched racers any at all. He most likely learned that racers happens to be those who go to midnight madness , street , sportsman classes So that track is set up perfect for those racers Be hard to set up a race track for few really fast cars who would not be happy how the track is , how its ran , or pay outs. I can see and understand why the track is shorter You can eliminate the dreaded habitually never happy racers. Are you saying that he could have built it longer but specifically choose not to in order to eliminate the fast cars bc they are the ones that complain?

I would say not because they complain but they win more often and the fans really don't care to see dragsters . So try to make it a door car track by making it short for vehicals that don't have 4 wheels brakes.

Cant build a track for only 25-30 fast cars Lol Just add it up 30 entries at 60$ No way you build track for that

I went there a couple of weeks ago to check it out. Just planned on making one pass, which I did. I walked to the end of the shutdown to see what it looked like. It is a nice place, but I wouldnt take a dragster or fast door car down it. Just like any of the short 1/8 mile tracks, 99 times out of 100, everything is fine, there will be no problems, but.. No where to run off and there is about a 2-3' drop off at the end of the shut down to a not so smooth looking field. The bushes and stuff might not be so bad, but you are definely going to feel the drop off. There is also a no trespassing sign right at the end of the shut down, so Im thinking he just didnt have the room to go any further. Nice place and potential to be really nice, just a little short at the present time. I will go back for sure, just not in fast car, which I dont have to worry about

What im saying is this Build a track fir racers that you have in that piticilar area You study other tracks see what works what dont Whethers its 1/8 or 1/4 It doest take rocket science to figure to see whats working whats not He doesnt have the ground to go further Not that he would of even if he had ground I think its great he built it it does have a draw of racer from that area who will go and make it thier home track The 10-15 fast cars some others may use it for test n tunes Some it just be a place to go because dont have to drive 2 hour to a track

He doesn't have the ground makes a lot more sense than he wanted to keep away racers. I can do the math 30 entries X $60 (I'm using your numbers) = $1800 X 30 weekends a year = $54,000. X 10 years = $540,000 Seems to me that the extra income could add a few hundred more feet of shutdown and pay for itself. You said this earlier "I can see and understand why the track is shorter You can eliminate the dreaded habitually never happy racers." You were implying that he did it by choice in order exclude the unhappy, complaining racer (which apparently only guys that run quick ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ). If this is true which I highly doubt (I think he is land locked)he stands very little chance of surviving making decisions that turn away this much income. We haven't taken into account the other revenue the extra cars will bring in with extra crew and concessions.
