I would think it could be a liability issue. You did not take needed safety steps to prevent accident. If you pulled it maybe it would have stopped The track shouldn't be held liable. You know what your up against when you get there. It has been beaten into the ground on this and other forums about the length, etc. I am sure you are talking about the driver in this case. Can't imagine why the pin was left in the chute pack. Too late to pull or not, you don't want to go without ALL of your safety equipment ready.

Waivers are not worth much. When a lawyer wants to sue a piece of paper won't stop him. There is always a loop hole they can find. That's why I've never let any one ride my horses except family.

I have seen a couple of the videos WHAT A SHORT TRACK. The so called 4.90s runs he has. I have to really wonder , Tape measure might reveal a much shorter track from start to actual finish line. But it still a short shut down after the finish !! Wow

If he was running 4.90's he was set up for a fail. An earlier post had an altered running 5.23 with chutes out before the finish line and hard on the brakes. I would say that this car has at least a 1000lbs on the altered. I would be a little skeptical of the 4.90's even with the chute and 4 wheel brakes. JMO

Also seen he went 200 ft or so past the finish line wide open because he didn't see the finish line. That cuts the shut down even more

There was a vetted that went 4.81 at 141mph last Sunday and used his chute

I know most people are familiar with their cars but 4.80's and 90's with that short of shut down is just a hiccup / miscue from disaster. especially with no tech. All it will take is a spectacular crash and injury then the media will be all over the outlaw status and then there goes the track. Oh s**t they don't pay attention to local racing anyway.

Their times were faster than indy was the weekend before and indy had a better DA so I would believe it is shorter.

And your truck is usually rite on the money. Let's play a game and try and figure out how short. Give us some data from Indy and then bonne scare . And we can all take guess
