Ok guys I'm trying to decide if I'm going to use the tires that came with my car or not. The car has been sitting for 5 years. They hold air, no cracks, sat in trailer the whole time. Goodyear dealer who could sell me new ones said to run them. I'm just unsure at 170 mph. What do you all think?

If they are not dry rotted and the tread area doesn't feel as hard as a rock I'd run them and see how they do before buying.
What size tire?

You'll save over $700. It's just rubber and air. What could go wrong? You know I'm just trying to start schytt. Don, said it was boring on here, anyway and he is right.

Most I would ever run a race tire is 3 years, Racing tires tend to go thru so much torsional twist , speed loads I couldn't not see using a tire thats is that old

Still sell them , get new set, just not worth the issues if one should let go . Sure that Goodyear dealer will stand behind you if you decide to run them. Of coarse how far behind you will he stand is undetermined

If you want to give them away I'll run them on the Nova. That way one side of the dispute will be able to say I told you so when we are done.

I've dealt with tires all my life and can't see a reason not too use them. Just was looking for opinions. We know how they are:)
