Looks just like a Reid or Dedenbear case. I bought one from BTE and one from ATD and they just rivet a name tag over the Reid logo.

It is not a Reid case. Yes companies like BTE and ATD have purchased Reid cases and put their name on them in the past.
These are made by TS. Their design. And the price is much better.

Of course, if you prefer the Reid, I can get those too.

Question. How do you go about re-certifying a case. I have TS 5000 w roller tail shaft. it's about 7 yr's old and we want to possibly go super comp racing next year and since we don't have a trans. tunnel (the car is an altered) I worry that they may actually look at the cert. Or would it be cheaper to buy a new case.

Or would it be cheaper to buy a new case. I just sent out both of mine to be recertified by Reid. Cost was $75.00 each plus shipping. A lot cheaper than a new case and much nicer looking than hanging some shield over it. And I try to take my stuff apart each season just to check things out anyway so it wasn't that big of a deal. I kept the original boxes so shipping was easy.

Basically they all require the case to be disassembled, cleaned and shipped to them for re-certification. If it is a complete transmission they will also charge you for a refresh at that time plus the freight.

I wish it would be easy to put a shield on it but no room. I guess I'll send it off to have it done since I also need to change the shift lever from front to rear and get rid of the bracket I made to make that work. Thanks for the input.

sg3526 Didn't know I had a separate in-box. I don't work well with computers which is why my son does the data logger for the car. I'll give you a call after the holiday crush is over. I never did hear for sure but how did the 565 work out?

I never did hear for sure but how did the 565 work out? Worked great. Car hauls A$$. He has only made a few wide open passes but it's been around the 7.90 range at 171 runs 8.90's at 170 too. I think he needs a taller tire but we are going to work on that over the off season. 60's are in the 1.12 to 1.14 range so it's pretty close. As far as an inbox look at the upper right corner of the page where it says messages (right next to the green motorcycle). Click on the new message link and it will take you right to it.
