What i have is no different than a racepak dash only alot cheaper. The reason mine and racepaks are legal is that they do no control anything. They are jus fancy digital gauges.

I think that Jeremy only uses the scanner as a way to monitor his coolant temp before the run. As he has stated the scanner is only able to show info at around 15 seconds after the reading are actually valid and so even if he was using it during a pass the info would be from before he left the statrting line. As has been said already people are not happy being beat by someone but with his talent he has beat up on a lot of us. myself included.

I can tell you from personal experience. NHRA required Me to remove a battery operated single cylinder EGT from the car before I was allowed to pull in for !st round at a dividional event. It had no wires to anything except for the header tube no power wires at all. I was told by the tech inspector the reason was that it shows live data and any live data to the driver is strictly prohibited. They also require tach connections removed from any car with the delay boxes that have the built in tach like the mega 400 from Biondo.

All the guages in a car are giving you "live data". How is this different than a temp guage? As far as NHRA tech goes, I was racing the NHRA Open at GIR years ago in my stock '83 Cutlass. I had a square beam blocker that bolted under the nose. I was stopped by 2 NHRA tech's at the et shack after one of my time runs. It went something like this- (I kept my mouth shut while they argued) Tech guy 1 "What's the problem"? Tech guy 2 "That's illegal". Tech guy 1 "What is"? Tech guy 2 "That blocker". Tech guy 1 "No it's not". Tech guy 2 "Yes it is. Give me your tape measure. You're only allowed 30" of overhang from the front axle on an altered". Remember I'm driving a STOCK '83 Cutlass. The other tech guy and I look at each other puzzled. Tech guy 2 "That's not an altered" Tech guy 1 "Anything that's not stock is "altered"". Really? This was an NHRA tech that had no clue to what the heck he was talking about. I sat there for 20 minutes while they argued about the legality of my beam blocker and what an altered was. The final outcome was they got tired of arguing and let me go back to the pits with the beam blocker still on. At the Div finals one year I had an NHRA offical walk up and look in my car, the same stock Cutlass, in staging lanes. Him "Did you have Mcdonald's for breakfast". Me "Uh, Yes I did". I thought it was an odd question in staging. He points at the wadded up bag in the passenger floorboard and says "You know I can throw you out for unsecured ballast". i thought he was joking but no, he was dead serious. I told him I'd throw it away after my pass. Freekin' Jackwagon. So just because one tech guy says it somewhere doesn't mean it's right.

Did they make you unhook your water temp, tach? Those show live data. Also what i have is exactally like a racepak. It is just a display for the legal sensors that are on the car. The dumb thing is i dont even need it on the car when i'm actually racing i just leave it hooked up for convience.
I just wish those that were bitching would say something to me instead of behind my back. I could have explained it and would have unhooked it. I also wish the management would have at least looked at the car and/or device before i was called a cheater. It doesnt matter now as i let them keep the money and will not return without first receiving an apology or a change in management.

Also if cid thinks the device is illegal why did they let me use it? If it wasnt brought to their attention till after the race, which i doubt due to the people watching me race will standing a feet while i launched, why would they still pay me first place money?

Dennis I agree with You tech guys define the rules differently at every level and ever track.I have been racing for 26 years and seen a lot of different opinions on tech issues. Jeremy you are jumping on the defensive side and I am not saying that you cheated I just wrote about some of My personal experiences I tried to get a better explanation about the EGT that had no in car wiring but was told thats the way he defined the rules. I also agree with You on the issue that if the scanner was in the car and they did not say anything then it is considered ok. If someone else saw it and said something they should have come to You and asked you to remove it which I am sure You would have. The reason people complain about losing a race or someone winning too much is beyond Me this is a hobby because no one at this level could support their Family on this income. We are supposed to be enjoying racing not bickering about this piddly stuff. Especially when it should have been handled between You, the Accuser, and the Track Management. This would have eased the situation if You would have had a chance to explain your equipment and probably avoided all this. I would like to tell sg3526 that I do get a hard copy of the rule book every year when I renew but NHRA does get their extra $ to add that to my renewal. Any way they can get extra out of the racers they will. I prefer to keep a hard copy in the trailer because internet connection may not always be at your fingertips.

Jeremy, please bring your "illegal live timing and data device" to GMP this weekend. I want to install it in my dragster so I can finally go a couple of rounds. While your at it, bring your .000 delay box adapter so my lights will be deadly also.

While your at it, bring your .000 delay box adapter so my lights will be deadly also. It only works with an obd II port but we can splice it in. I'll have to drop it off on my way to the Michigan 50k race. Hopefully they are calling me a cheater after this comkng weekend too.
