What are you driving and what MPG does it get?
2004 Pontiac Aztek. 20-23 MPG last I checked.
2003 Chevy 2500HD 4X4. I don't even want to know what the MPG is.
2003 VTX1800c It will get around 40 depending on how hard you twist the throttle.

own 6 vehicles neon 32 mpg cavalier 30mpg durango 19 mpg pup truck 15mpg shadow 35mpg so im not to bad on gas per gallon, but own to many ,plates ins thing,, so couple will be leaving my household as for hybrids? the genral upkeep on those, are high, most use hid headlights, not youre cheap 10$ bulb, battery replacement is out of question!! that is going to be the issue you will see when you see them come up for sale in the used car market, i see more citys allowing colf carts in their towns that maybe more inline , with saving fuel, ,,if its just around town

F350 Dullay - no clue 1986 Mazda pickup - no clue, nothing works on that thing 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix (nicknamed "tick, tick") - 27 mpg 2008 Nissan Altima - 30 mpg, once the average got up to 36 mpg :-)
I thought about the hybrids but for the initial price and the maintenance are they really worth the price in the long run, I guess the environment would say YES but my wallet said NO.

I figured IF...
You drive 35 miles one way to work. 70 miles a day 350 miles a week 17,500 a year.
I paid 3.19 today my Aztek gets about 21mpg That means $2658 per year in gas.
And IF... You can make it there on electric power and you company lets you plug it in for the trip home. You would save $2658.
let's say you drive 20,000 total and the other 2500 miles is on gas.
5 years would be a savings of $13,290.
That's lot's of if's and driving in optimal conditions.
