Yes we changed dirks pump at the bracket finals Correct. And that car has been deadly since. Scott

A stator tube failure will be obvious. It would spin in the pump, snap clean off or strip the splines off. The complaint would not be a down track bog. It would be "feels like it leaves in high gear".
I suspect an ignition or fuel delivery issue would present itself at high rpm/load. And it's intermittent which makes me think electrical.

I agree it is probably fuel or electrical
... but don't agree that the stator tube can be ruled out because "it would be obvious". I know of a couple (myself and Dirk) that weren't so obvious and didn't necessarily behave like it leaves in hi gear all of the time.

Another thought would be to install a wide band afr. If it goes dead lean you know you ran out of fuel.

Things like this suck, because they are a process of elimination and I have no idea if its fixed until I can make 2 runs down the track. I changed the 7AL box in the car Saturday morning, but have not got to try that yet. I have heard that sometimes when they go bad it doesn't show up until it has some heat in everything and its under a load. We will see I guess. The bad deal is that I cannot go on Wednesday nights anymore to try and work it out, because I start teaching on Monday and Wednesday nights starting this week.

My dad doesn't have an NHRA license to go 9.99 anymore or that would be a good idea.

Well the good news is I believe my month and half long fight with the gremlin is over. It appears as if the 7AL box was the culprit. The bad news is I now have a broken engine as I had a lifter go bad. Not sure if it hurt anything until I check it out, but you never know with the lifter failure, it may not of hurt anything or it could have damaged a bunch.

Seriously Clay? Man, that just sucks. Sorry to hear it. I feel your pain. Everything I own seems to be a pile of crap lately.

When I left my truck broke. It caught something from Clay.

I have to borrow a car to race because both my racecars need work. Now, I may have to borrow a truck to get the borrowed car to the track...

I have to borrow a car to race because both my racecars need work. Now, I may have to borrow a truck to get the borrowed car to the track... And I thought I had a bad week with cars. Get this. I have a 1989 corvette I bought new in 1989. I was thinking about selling it, so last week I took a good look at the title...... It doesn't match the VIN number on the car. I've had this car for twenty something years and just noticed this little issue now. Then I took my Bobcat to Bobcat of St. Louis for some work..... $1900 in high pressure hoses.yaaaaaa But my race car and truck seem to be OK so all is good.
