The final race of the Nascar season is this weekend at Homestead. What year was the first race? Who won? Hint: I'm not asking for the first Sprint Cup race just the first NASCAR sanctioned race.

Flag on the field.
Sorry my question wasn't clear. I was looking for the 1st Homestead race. But the way I worded it could've been taken as the first nascar race ever.
I'll ask for opinions here. IMO you both answered the question correctly. So you would both get points. It's my fault the question wasn't clear enough not yours.
You guys are like piranhas with fresh meat thrown in the water. ;D It took less than 5 minutes to get responses.

I posted the "wait for it" to see if denny was peeking. lol
Do you guys like the "Weekend Question"? Like I did last week with multiple answers. That was a few people can get the answer without having to check for new questions throughout the weekend. Most of us are off season now, but I can see it being a problem when we go back racing.

I'll take 3 points and give Scotty 1 (LOL), Denny, I'd kick that dog out of the house for not being online and waiting!

I dont' get paid enough to sit around the house and surf the web. I only do it at work. Give me 5 points for not being there on weekends.

I guess Dennis waited for me to leave for work before posting. Now, who`s watching who? ;D I dont understand those nascar guys, they drive around in circles all day long looking for the finish line. Why dont someone just tell them where it is? The multi points weekend question is good for me. I`ll be gone all day saturday at K.C.I.R.

They both deserve points on that one. The question was a little misleading. Anybody want a dog, he sleeps all day!

Sounds like 2 pts each.vegabomb and racer 403. www.racingone.com/historical_article.aspx?artnum=46152Racing History in Homestead However, the debut was set to be November 5, 1995, with the NASCAR Nationwide Series 300-mile finale. The opening was spectacular, and the entire facility an immaculate work of art. From the infield, to the restrooms, to the closed circuit TV monitors in each garage, every amenity proved the speedway to be a step into the new culture of modern racing, and an experience ahead of its time. The event was televised by CBS, the first time the Busch Series had aired live flag-to-flag by a major network. Dale Jarrett won. First NASCAR raceThe first NASCAR "Strictly Stock" race ever was held at Charlotte Speedway, although this is not the same track as the Charlotte Motor Speedway that is a fixture on current NASCAR schedule. The race was held on June 19, 1949 and won by driver Jim Roper when Glenn Dunnaway was disqualified after the discovery of his altered rear springs. Initially, the cars were known as the "Strictly Stock Division" and raced with virtually no modifications on the factory models. This division was renamed the "Grand National" division beginning in the 1950 season. Over a period of more than a decade, modifications for both safety and performance were allowed, and by the mid-1960s, the vehicles were purpose-built race cars with a stock-appearing body.
