I’m bowing out of points , made a donation and the wife found out I joined. I said all winter I wouldn’t join but I did because of the short season. Big argument this morning. Plus she said I’m not good enough I should be winning more if I wish to continue. Have fun guys I will try and run the big races That is some harsh stuff man. We all know you. We know what you have accomplished and what you are capable of. I joined points this year even though I know I will miss at least two races and have no chance. I join to support the program. Family is what’s important. Don’t stress man. Come out when you can and enjoy yourself. This stuff takes so much focus that there is no room for life’s issues, problems and troubles during the precious hours we spend at the track. Look forward to seeing you Jason.

I’m going to say Aaron Hagen is now in the threeway conversation as the greatest sportsman racer in gateway history! I’m sure you guys know the other two Aaron is young. I expect he will far exceed any accomplishments I’ve had.

And it looks like Ron rathgeb junior will only run once a year or so , maybe your correct Jim he might just become the best sportsman racer ever at gateway? Kinda fun to do these type of conversations about gateway history. Back in the 1990s one guy who never entered points but was always winning any sportsman then street ET was Bret . I think he could have been a division champion back then if he could have only sneaked in on team gateways roster

I went out early and watched him chew up one big hitter after the next. Amazing to witness.

I never went to Bret's "school" but my 2 racin buddies did. Pete and Tony. They told me that Bret told them who ever staged both bulbs first was gonna lose. Bret and I had a burn down one nite, the starter waved us in. and we sat for 2-3 minutes. Finally Bret went in first. I got the win light. I don't want a rematch.

He always said if you ever get in a burn down, make sure you win the stage dual. So I stage were to never get in one . Save fuel and wear and tear
