Yes it was a wake up call for me . About how fast we are really going and how quick things can go wrong. I was blessed by god because if I was making a left lane pass or 1/4 mile run it would have ended badly. As a public service announcement please dragster guys check the welds on the front spindles periodically. My car only sees gateway and Indy for the most part but those front ends take some abuse. Kinda makes me wonder if the dragster trend that started in the late 1990s when a lot of guys switched hasn’t ran its course?

I showed up at 10:30 for the 11:30 Jegs SQ qualifying session #1 and they were already going down the track. That kind of sucked, but I got in with my 2nd qualifying run only to be sent home with my .015 pkg first rd courtesy of Corey Landolt's .012 dead on 1. Looked like Super Pro and Super Quick were both through 4 rounds by about 7:00 The final in S/P was about 2:00 am Sikeston wasn't much earlier. Final run there was 1:30 with a lot less cars

Sikeston had a normal race, which can't be compared to Gateways event this last weekend. Gateways event was actually scheduled to run that late. Two weeks ago, Gateway didn't start time runs until 7:00 p:m, had two oil downs, and still finished at 12:45. That is a normal comparable race. Also Sikeston doesn't get the overall cars Gateway does on a bad night. Tough to compare.

Frank Douglas, who was at gateway sat, is one of the them.

Yes I heard that also . Frank did his at bowling green. Possible recall needed? It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s babied or sees a lot of trailer and race time like frank

Sikeston should have been done way earlier. 17 cars in pro ($1500 guaranteed win), 7 in open, 2 in super pro(that didnt break in time runs), 7 jrs, and 10 mopar. They gave us 3 time runs per class and still took 6.5 hours to run

2 superpro cars! That’s got to be a record low at any track

The other tracks in the area just don't get the cars and they all run a slower program than Gateway and have for years, so I just laugh when people bring up Gateway being slow. I have been going there my entire life and yes it used to be ridiculous, but so far from that now.
