Only 1/3 of GM's sales are in North America. China alone buys more GM cars. How long before GM and other manufacturers get tired of the US regulations and taxes and move all operations overseas? You say people won't buy the cars? They won't care when we are just a small fraction of their business.
How do we bring jobs back to the USA?

That's why Pontiac is gone. They sell more buicks in China than you can imagine. Pontiac popular with younger generation China sales decided its demise. Buy from an American company not ones who's profits go across the big pond.

Lower taxes - taxes are too high in the U.S. and pass laws stating no imports from foreign countries that don't have the same epa and oscha standards as the U.S. , now obama is going to push through tougher epa standards that will force electricity to go higher and higher , finish killing the coal industry , force more jobs over seas . Countries like china and india and for that matter mexico pollute like crazy - the places where our jobs are going and its not like the pollution stays in there borders but it's the U.S that has to keep cutting its emission out put ! obama's objective sense he took office was to tear the U.S. down and make it weak and more like Europe , he sees the U.S. as the worlds problem .

Higher power bills have more ripple effects that most people realize. Not only will your bill go up but using the automotive manufacturer example, it will cost more to run the factories. It will cost more to run a dealership. Both will cause the cars to rise. Repair shops will have to pay more to heat and cool their buildings. They will pass the cost to the customers.

If you remember correctly he saved GM and Chrysler from going bankrupt. Government bailout ring a bell?

Every trade is different, but I know there is more automotive related work in the machinist field now, than there was 5-6 years ago by a large margin! Every field is different, so overall I would not agree that more manufacturing work is going oversees than it was 5-10 years ago. The machinist field has seen a lot of work come back that it lost 10 years ago and that is good.

I could be wrong but my guess is the amount of out of spec machine work coupled with rising off shore labor and crap raw materials tipped the tables back towards onshore machining in the us which is awesome
