Thanks. Crazy fact of the night is I never turned my fan on once. My question is why did a lot of cars make the fastes runs of the weekend at 1am with 95% humidity? The barometer only rose .04 from round 2 till 3 . How did they run so good on water ? It goes against all of my trends in the past. One theory I heard was the the dump uncovers around that time and the methane gas helps the motors kinda like the chicken poop at Lyons when the wind blows from the coops tears the strip?

I slowed down at as the night went on, but my crap slowed down both nights and was running almost 4mph off in the 1/4. On Friday I even had .035 less in the box than normal, so I am thinking my converter may be going out.

They always run a little faster before they blow up.

Clay I have been so slow but very consistent also my car should go 4.80s all day and the car went from 4.96 to a best of 4.93 all weekend so I am wondering is it the weather or my car also ? I was thinking converter issues also but maybe not

Like Kevin, Except for when I had a bad spark plug, I could have painted a number on mine for both days. That is/was until the crankshaft broke...
I wouldn't consider mine to have been running slow for the conditions either.

On a normal night the tires would have chattered when the dew hit . Not Friday tho

My car was no more consistent than it has been at any other race at Gateway this year.

The thing is we have not raced at gateway at 3am in a long time. Your cars would not be as good without all of that track prep. Everyone's car is fine till the dew hits and the humidity goes thru the roof. If it was a " normal " bracket night and the show was running till 2am I know for a fact they would not be prepping in between every round and the track would go away like a few years ago .

Well hopefully Ace and the guys learned something from Thursday and Friday as to what to do for track prep. I never saw Tyler make that many laps on the tractor although I did see him spray and drag after an oil down. I don't ever recall watching them (being the guys at Gateway) ever drag after spraying the track. My car ran from 5.010 to 4.994 on both days and the 60' was almost exactly the same both days that being from coming off the trailer in the heat of the day to 3:30 am Friday morning. I was definitely impressed.

Looks like fluff party wrapped it up this weekend. My team in 2nd only had 3 members show up and I seen Jim leave before 1st round so I'm guessing he broke, which left 2 for elimations. I've seen several drivers not running the team points class they signed up for or different drivers running their car in that class. It was fun the first 5 races
