Would prefer 1/8 but either would be ok. Just need to know which way the program is going since if it goes 1/4 we will need to change rear gears as 7900 is way to much for the 632. I went to Richmond's site and used their calculator. First I'm stuck with the 33" tire. It says I need a 3.70 gear. If I drop tire size, it recommends a 3.20.

In the Corvair I changed from a 4:88 gear to a 4:30 and the 1/4 mile RPM dropped 800 RPM.

I guess I need to go back and look at converter slippage as something does not seem right. 4.30 gears with 33.5 tires = 7900 in 1/4 with the 632. With the 565 I thought it was around 7300 in 1/4. Could trans be slipping? The converter is a brand new Coan set up for this combo so I don't think that's the problem. Embarrassed to say never had the trans apart in 12yrs. other than filter and new fluids and went from 500 in the beginning to 940 to just shy of 1300. I guess I'll find out about the trans since the input shaft is now a removable unit and was left in the converter when the trans was removed from the engine. Sorry I hi-jacked this thread just kind of got away from the original topic.
