With the 2014 all but over I was wanting to make a suggestion for next year. I read in another thread that GMP read threads from time to time. Feel free to add constructive ideas.
My thought is I would like GMP to run a "trophy" class at all points races. Would not cost GMP much since they collect entry fee and have no payout... A good entry level class with no buybacks so it don't add a lot of time to the normal program. Sportsman in my opinion is not an entry level class, running it a few times this year I felt way out classed as a driver, just me being honest about my skills..... This class would be a stepping stone for people like myself that are "new" to the sport, and would eventually move up in classes as most racers have. This class would put like skilled drivers together. For the most part a driver will not enter trophy if they are good because they will want to run for money. I realize they ran this a few times with not a lot of cars in it, but if it was known that it was going to be a regular class I believe it would draw more cars, like I said it would really not cost GMP much of anything to add this class. So if GMP is reading this, please consider for 2015. Jeremy

X2! A lot of us cut our teeth in the trophy class at the old gateway.
I think persons who are beginning in the trophy class need to be in a competitive environment and not a test-n-tune environment. This extremely helpful in the learning process (doing and observing) and also getting to meet and forge relationships and/or friendships with the people with whom the trophy racer will race against in the future.
Imo, to help get it off the ground it needs to have attention drawn to it via press releases dedicated to that topic (beginner class) only and also announcements on Wednesday nights.

After I won a trophy race years ago I felt brave enough to try Pro. I remember those days as being a lot of fun.

I am in it to have fun, not for the money. To me running sportsman and most likely only going one round is not fun and is frustrating. I think I ran that class 3 times and trophy 1 time, and had more fun in trophy. Of the 3 times I ran sportsman I only made it past round one 1 time. I have alot to learn and spent all of my time this year trying to dial in the truck where it would be somewhat consistant. I will run sportsman next year if I don't have any other option....

X3 the trophy class is a must. Sportsman is full of sharks and real race cars. 90% of us all started in the trophy class. Without it we would have most likely quit. It could even go one step further by having multiple trophy classes like EFI only or sticks only and have three different lanes where they stay seperate till the semis or something like that?

We all asked to bring back trophy class last year it was never a consistent part of gmp Sat program some days yes some days no .I thought this year they did it sometimes . Thought was to give a newbie the whole day to watch the other class's and see how bracket racing works . Also not such a rush to race as a Wed nite . Hope they will consider it in 2015 .

How about advertise their events earlier than the Monday/Tuesday before the event
Cheaper spectator tickets or certain price for car load for bracket races to actually get spectators there other that family that come with the racers
$1-$2 beer specials would also help on bracket nights, and if they were open later racers probably would get in on it (once eliminated)

I know that we all get busy working on stuff and by the time we start thinking about eating they are shut down. So I just started bringing my own and the beer would be great.

And one more thing I would say fix the huge dip by the old timeslip booth . It plays hell on the front wheels and there is no avoiding it. Lol

I think the trophy class is a great idea. I'd love to see new people get involved. I hope that it's considered.

Ad the year to the "event winner" stickers.
