Probably no. It's not 3 days and the payout

I voted yes. It is a local race. My post in the other topic explains my dislikes but it is still a chance to win minimum of $3K for only $100 (if single entered) although I'm sure there be some chopping of the purse in the semi's or final. It's near the end of the year and I wanna race.

I hate the structure of this race and have no idea why they will not give the Mega Bucks race that was always a success and never failed (that's right Dennismopar, it never failed) a try. The new management since the track reopened has never attempted to have the megabucks event we always had, it was changed instantly. You advertise it all year (and not a month before) and the old format will fill the place with 300-400 entries like it always did. With that said, I am sure I will attend this race seems it's 25 minutes from home, but can't see double entering in either class with the payout structure that it has. Will probably just buy one entry to each class and have a buyback.

Mark said they will probably race it. He said the payout sucks but he hasn't been in the money much lately anyway. lol

Im all done for this year I attended 1 car show have 1 other to go to Motor was hurt at the last points race haveing close to 700 passes on it and 3 years of running Good luck to those who attend tho Payout are still good they may not be as great as before but sponsorships are gone to Unlike what luke puts in at I57 where he has assembled and been able to retain sponsorship yes he advertises but not on tv Small track turned away racers and track officials parked your rigs over 200 racers attented If GMP has such a race be lucky to pull 100 racers total Just shows the hate distain GMP has between racers n management of the track

I have no hate towards any of the management of Gateway, but I do have a complete lack of understanding their event planning part of their business. Whether it is Mega Bucks, Mopar Madness, Super Chevy, or Fun Ford I want to see these big events have success, but I can't understand why the track does not want the same. The only one of all of these events that they gave an honest attempt to get cars here was Mopar Madness a couple years ago when they guaranteed all the big money that the racers wanted and nobody showed up. Since that happened they have not even attempted to have a successful big event. Every Megabucks race they have did since reopening has had a flyer released the month before the event, which is a guarantee failure and has did nothing to intrigue many racers to travel from any distance. Last years 1st megabucks was the closest thing they have had to the old race and it wasn't a bad turn out. That was a good opportunity to start getting some of these racers back that always came before. All of us racers that go to some of these races out of town are always asked when they are going to return to the old megabucks format and say they miss that race. Bottom line on all of these events is that the track continues to set themselves up for failure from the beginning and that does not fall on the racers. A well planned out special event can draw cars and make the track money.

I do know of two racers that were told this weekend that if they don't like it to race somewhere else. I also know of one out of town racer that when he was confused about where to park sat night was told "how fXXXing hard it is?" This is not helping to bring back racers. Also I seen several instances where someone had a problem during time runs. When they tried to restage they were not allowed to make their run. Why would you want to anger customers?

I see both sides of this argument If you was the track and here we are close to five year mark , attendance as poor as it gets spectators are near zero, racers in agreement to pass on races , looking at a rock in the hand and nothing in the other . Would you attempt a hail Mary to try an revive a race ? Idono? One thing is a sure bet it will not continue ! If I was Mr Francis all bets would be off!! Heads would roll ! I would be all in for next year! I put out a schedule , be aggressive in a payouts increases through out the entire classes and have a structure points payout and benefits for all to all the top ten racers in every points class at the end of champion ship runs at the banquet for racers in the points chase Roll back pit parking charges substantially! You would know what your running for at every race before the track ever had the first race! I would make it tough on these small tracks !! GMP should be leading in this area premier track dictates premier racing events bar none Track prep would be axle breaking the house of hook would be home there as well as fast times , and entertainment values ! Mr Francis has I'm afraid of become a ghost owner!! Far far removed !

The problem Dennis is that they HAVE NOT PUT IN AN EFFORT AND TRIED TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL RACE! That's the part I can't comprehend. I understand the events they have been having have not worked out, but the main factor is how they have went about those events. I will add though that I love your idea of going all in next season!
