Racers: Please be aware of where your opponent is before turning off the track. The car in the tower lane has the right of way.

I was the guy in the right lane. I don't know why he turned in front of me. have removed the front clip already. nothing was salvageable. it also got the radiator, trans cooler, electric water pump and left front tire.

nobody was hurt except for billfolds. I am a little stiff and a couple of sore spots. I came to an abrupt stop in around 10 foot.

Yep, bad deal. Sorry to see your car wrecked by a bad decision by the other driver to turn in front of you. When you are in the left lane you never turn across in front of the car in the right lane unless you know exactly where they are. If you can't see them and don't know where they are, come to a stop if you have to. Luckily no one was hurt. Did he offer to help fix your car?

I would have said something to him but by the time I got the car loaded and tied down and calmed down a little the storm was hitting and I headed for home.

I just started back racing last fall after a 41 year layoff. i come to central il when i have a day off from Joliet pro bracket. i was seventh in points. it took an hour to load the car into the trailer on the track. the left front fender and inner fender were folded back around the tire. the only thing salvageable from the front end was the hood hinges. i don't know how bad the other car was but he drove it back to the pits. i have pictures and will try to post one. that was the original 65 chevelle front end except for the hood
