Just to point out, that track had 3.90-4.0 passes on in 15 years ago before the new surface... Just sayin Your correct but the track surface was in better condition by far 15 years ago, had it not been for resurfacing it last year it may not of been good enough to race a car on this year or at least within another year.... esspecially the shutdown area, it was badly coming apart.. Plus remember you can only go just so fast down an 1/8th mile. The high 3 second pass hasn't happened sense, even when Jacklyn had the place.... I not saying the 3 second pass didn't happen but we all know about the outdated photo cell perfect timing system that Bob Boyd had. As for the weeds, a little Round Up will take care of them, Your always going to have them, you gotta remember the track was resurfaced over the old 40 year old asphalt that already had many cracks and the track is built on sandy ground, it's going to move and crack again allowing weeds to grow in the cracks.

The weeds are not growing up through cracks. They are pushing up through the asphalt. It is in the brand new extended shut down. I could be wrong but I don't think the base was prepared properly. Can't forsee that area being in good shape for very long.

They destroyed another car yesterday, It was pretty evident that the higher powered cars were having a tough time getting a hold of things.

You're so funny Bob, you sure do a lot of complaining considering you haven't even raced there this year! Don't be a hypocrite, the track was known as a 6 second door car/dragster track when you ran things. Do you remember Arnie's match races from last year? How many runs did both cars get down the track at the same time without one going up in smoke? Maybe once, way after the sun went down? That was disappointing. Things are not perfect but I still think its amazing that they can currently do a better job with VP than you could with VHT. Just stop complaining and acting so butthurt, people are sick of it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, have you raced there this year? Tell me your PERSONAL experience with traction. Don't have one? Huh, go figure.
That being said, I'm not complaining about traction, I'm not saying its perfect. I'm all for VP if they can get it work but I do love VHT.

They destroyed another car yesterday, It was pretty evident that the higher powered cars were having a tough time getting a hold of things. The car that wrecked wasn't a high powered car at all. It was a 7 second car, at least on that pass. Went through at 80mph. Track temp during the day was in the 140's. Almost looked like something broke. It made a hard left at the top end after getting in and out of the throttle a few times. Something didn't look right with the car all the way down.

If it was only a 7 sec car and it was all over the place it definitely sounds like something was wrong with the car.

The car was a blown Willys pu that had raced many times before and although he only only clicked the clocks off in the sevens he did it after he lost control. If it would of made a full straight pass it would of ran in the 5's Several drivers of the faster cars said the track was slick and yes the high temps did have an effect on the traction.
